Two, bring back 1950’s standards. I could be wrong, but I think the system that trained US scientists to send man to the moon was the education system at a high point.

Three, allow kids to advance as quickly as they individually can. If some eight year old can handle calculus and he wants to do it, let him.

Former teacher: yes it did. Imagine going to cooking school to be a baker. Instead of starting you off to cake baking with a simple one layer cake or sheet pan cake, so that you learn proper technique, they start you off making a grand wedding cake. Of course you fail & feel inadequate. But don’t worry, you eventually work your way up to the basics.
