Excellent choice
I would also suggest the Japanese Akita and the African Boerbel

No firearms for ordinary people in Banff National Park. Only agents of the Province (or of the Nation of Canada) are allowed to be armed in the Park.

Guess Mr Grizzly missed the bear protocol memo!

"A GPS device alerted Parks Canada on Friday night, indicating a bear attack was happening within the Red Deer River Valley region" How does that work, a scream detector?

Lived in Alaska 4 years, no way I would spend the night in a tent in grizzly country without a fire arm.

Never bring a labradoodle when you need a Karelian Bear Dog.

Maybe a wife or husband stayed right there and tried their best to help their beleaguered spouse. And the dog bravely did all it good.
One may be a hapless ambush victim. But at least two of them were stone cold fighting heroes who deserve their place in Valhalla.

I hope it was not Dudley Doowright’s dog. If it was, how will he catch the burglar of Banff-fa-fa or should we leave that up to F Troop?

They ought to introduce grizzlies into Seattle.

Not really. "Bear protocol" is at least a .357mag, with 230gr FMJs. It's Canada, no guns for subjects. The bears will eat you and you will be happy.

Too bad they didn’t have any means of effectively defending themselves - like the 44 magnum I carry when hiking. The tyrannical Trudeau regime oppressing Canada doesn’t allow self defense.

I did not know that .357 mag came in 230gr. The most I have seen retail is 180gr.

Never trust a bear. What’s “bear protocol”? Asking the bear to be nice?
