The HOR won’t even attempt to impeach several cabinet members who are obviously deserving of being removed. It makes you wonder what it would take for someone to be impeached.

The only thing that will stir widespread outrage is if people were deprived of their cell phones and video games. Otherwise, they just shrug their shoulders at open borders, rising crime, and inflation.

Your citation is a strange one. There’s a lot of judging on this site in case you haven’t noticed. Everyone here has an opinion and expresses it well for the most part.

I think when you say majority, what I’m witnessing is that of rank-and-file GOP membership who remain impassive. Change is threatening, difficult and takes concerted time, effort, and stress. Change is fearful and angst ridden for a lot of people. MAGA voters on the other hand, or what I would also call America First voters seem to be of a different ilk. And that’s a good thing. If this country is saved; MAGA will spearhead the effort.

I used to think the same thing, but I’m not so sure about that anymore. As long as they do things gradually or incrementally they can pretty much get away with anything. Also, with mass communications the power of propaganda and manipulation of the masses is greater than it has ever been. Goebbels would envious.

Yes, I guess you could say we’re Rome — without the togas.

Yes we are like Rome. As i have posted before the parallels of the Republic to Empire shift are amazing. Just Trump as Cicero could fuel an hour’s discussion.

I’m stuck on outrage over our invasion coming through our southern border.

The strange thing to me is that a majority of the population doesn’t seem to be able to connect the dots. Evidently, a lot of people feel that they are immune to what’s coming if we don’t get the ship back on course.

A few people are savvy or wise enough to see the peril and know that the decline could quickly become existential.

Perhaps our biggest problem is our cultural deterioration. Once it sets in the rot is nearly impossible to turn around.

I blame Uni Party RINOS more.

***************

RINOs are the useful idiots, the enablers of Democrat radicalism. The Pubbies do nothing to really push back so naturally the Dems keep pushing for more.

If the Dems had any fear or respect for Republicans they wouldn’t risk pushing them so hard.

There has never been a populace as fat, comfortable, passively entertained and unused to sustained physical labor as our populace. I’m not expecting a lot of real outrage over mere political enormities until the societal conditions change.

"Where’s the Outrage?"

Most Democrat voters are too stupid to comprehend what's going on.

Their leaders approve. Biden is their useful-idiot figurehead, and, with him in the White House, they are making giant strides toward achieving their objective, viz. the destruction of the USA.

A lot of us are mad as hell! But please tell me - what exactly can I do about it? Vote? Don’t make me laugh.

Or I can be really constructive and come on here and whine about it.

Maybe I should wear a ribbon and attend a rally.

Seriously, WTF can an ordinary person do?

Very true. It typically takes some kind of life altering event to change peoples’ minds and attitudes owning to things like wars, economic deprivation, contagion, famine, etc. Very serious problems are festering but we are too comfortable and distracted to bother demanding that they be addressed. Most people simply don’t care.

Its difficult to imagine what it may take to alarm such a passive populace.

If Trump is reelected in 2024, and the Democrat’s start rioting, I hope Trump will do what is necessary to rid the US of the cancer of Democrats and all they stand for. What needs to be done? 1) Declare martial law in the states where the rioting takes place 2) Suspend habokus corpus like President Lincoln did in 1861 in Maryland 3) with 1 and 2 above done, have the military arrest every Democrat politician in the affected states, try them in military tribunals, and imprison them for life in Leavenworth. But—Trump lacks the balls to do this—he did little to nothin when Antifa and BLM rioted and burned in 2020—so I question if a Trump presidency will accomplish much of anything to correct the dire situation the US finds itself in.
