My lovely wife the RD/RN said this story needs to be spread far and wide: ‘Cans of diabetes’ Is an excellent way of describing this mess.

Sweet Tea is and always has been an abomination.

How else are you supposed to make it other than dumping in a s#itload of sugar??

McDonald’s unsweetened tea, common in most parts of the US, is fine.

McDonalds unsweetened iced tea is pretty good if it fresh.

Its called sweet tea....how does one think its gets to be sweet. Not to discount the health aspects of consuming anything McDonalds but why is this so groundbreaking? I doubt this is even the sweetest thing on the menu.

I only drink unsweetened tea. Two times in the last decade or so, something strange happened with McDonald’s tea making me steer away from theirs. I let my unfinished tea sit over night (do it all time). But the next day upon sipping, the tea turned to slime, pure okra style. Very nasty and I have no idea why that happened and it was only Micky-dees and no one else’s.

I’m impressed that they use actual sugar.

They put sugar in everything now, they want everyone dead. They’re even finding sugar in salt now.

I consider anything bought from fast food establishments to be highly unhealthy. It’s why I rarely go there. This really shouldn’t be a surprise.

Excess sugar doesn’t cause diabetes. Diabetes is a genetic flaw in DNA code. Mostly hereditary (think Mexican).

If I ever order iced tea from McD’s because I’m on the road, I ask for the “unsweetened” tea, with one sugar packet on the side. I use about half the packet in a large size tea.

Meh. I used to work at a BBQ restaurant back in high school. We certainly had sweet tea, and if I remember correctly, it was a quart (1/2 gal?) scoop of sugar per 5gal dispenser. Two tea bags for sweet, one bag for the commie tea.

We often got compliments on it after I happened to make it, cause I usually did two scoops of sugar.
