You can reply any way you like, STILL DOESN’T ANSWERE THE QUESTION!

As an employer I got rid of the dangerous fools in my department, they were a danger not only to themselves but to everybody else on the crews.

Construction can be a dangerous job, and accident prevention is a primary concern.

STUPID UNCONTROLLED PEOPLE MAKE IT EVEN WORSE!

Any organization that suffers dangerous fools on their roster deserves to be sued out of existence!

“You can reply any way you like, STILL DOESN’T ANSWERE THE QUESTION!”

Yes it did “answere” the question, as far as I’m concerned. AND WHY ARE YOU YELLING!!

Quite often in My career in law enforcement the fools were obvious early on. But as far as getting rid of them that was the purview of the administration or the police unions. We knew they were idiots. But line staff have no say about that. Which is truly a pity because it’s the serving line officers who have the best skills at knowing which ones are assholes. Tell me something, Marine- When you had a shit bird in your organization was it the lance corporal’s job to get rid of them or the senior officers (0-4 and above)? My guess it was the ones wearing brass on their collars, and not the ones wearing stripes on their sleeves. It’s the same in law enforcement. Does that make it right? OF FRIGGING COURSE NOT! But just remember that when you see one moron wearing a badge and doing stupid shit there are 49 other good ones standing there and shaking their heads in enbarrasment. 49 good ones who are largely powerless to show that idiot the door unless lieutenants/captains/inspectors are on their J.O.B. and dont have some personal/political/ethnic reason to keep them around.

Your absolutely right as a Lance Corporal or a Sergeant it wasn’t our responsibility or even within our power to “get rid of the sh!tbirds”, but we had thousands of ways to keep them out of sight and make them want to just disappear.
In the Corps you couldn’t just quit of course, but you could be made to just fade away into the background and thereby have no impact on unit efficiency and morale.
The noncom ranks had a lot more power with the troops than the brass hats because we worked close with them everyday.
The brass gave the orders, the cadre was responsible for the execution and the manner of execution of those orders.
I would think that non-commissioned ranks even in the police forces have just as much (non-stated of course) power as we had in the Corps.

Please don’t misunderstand me, I am not saying that all police are idiots, stupid, or lazy (most of the Sheriffs and cops I know personally are pretty smart decent people); what I am saying is that if the brass is screwing the pooch (for political reasons probably), it is the cadres (corporals/sergeants/etc) responsibility and duty to sideline the FUps to the best of their ability and authority.
