Subjects who aren’t cops, or close relatives of cops, or protected “friends” of cops (that was me), aren’t entitled to pets. Or their property, or their freedom, or much of anything else.

Amen. Years ago my Father's Day gift was a tee-shirt that said " I love dogs. People, not so much".
I have been treated poorly by, abandoned by and lied to by people, relatives and family. NEVER by one of my dogs.
