People have been ‘borrowing’ code snippets forever. Change the variable names, indentation, bracket formatting, etc.. - for a small amount of boiler plate code that has no groundbreaking algorithm? Who cares about an ‘owner’?
...but it can really help productivity.
Generally, I use ChatGPT for learning. It inverts ‘googling’. Instead of me doing searches and clicking links to poor quality resources, then having to formulate some sort of aggregation of the information I’ve found, I set some very specific context and ask questions - it does the aggregation of information to me, written with perfect grammar in seconds. It really helps getting up to speed on a technology you’re unfamiliar with.
I compare this to when I first started writing code in the 80’s. Learning is infinitely easier now.
