Funny they say considering, got an email from my school already stating they will be dropping chocolate and strawberry milk from grade schools because of the new school guidelines for next year

To stop childhood obesity, take away their devices. Kids have always eaten sweets when they could, and used to be we stayed thin. Then again, we rode bikes 40 or 50 miles a day, or played basketball or baseball or football all day. We used to hike to the swimming hole, or to a fishing spot.

Technology is a double edged sword. Its good in a lot of ways and bad as hell in others. Go ANYWHERE, and instead of enjoying what is there, kids will have their noses in their damn phones!

I laugh at nonsense like this. They get a dinky container of chocolate milk a day. That is hardly enough to get a person fat.

If they want them thinner, take the junk food off the EBT cards.

Chocolate milk in school? You’re kidding. Why, in my day Sonny, ...

This has as much to do with keeping kids healthy as did the forced vax or masking

Kids eat a lot of junk at home. Many Moms aren’t there and have cabinets full of junk food. Kids sit around and play video games and do their social media gabbing.

Parents come home and order pizza or fast food because they don’t want to cook.

I lived across from a woman who put stacks of pizza boxes out for the trash. She must of fed those kids pizza on a daily basis.

Keep in mind, the very same people screaming about chocolate milk in school lunches are promoting being big and fat as sexy and beautiful with centerfolds and ad campaigns.

I am one of the oldest people on the forum and I still enjoy my chocolate milk. I am not a coffee drinker so I have a glass of chocolate milk most every morning. These days it is actually chocolate almond milk but I certainly enjoy my ‘mixed drink’ first thing in the morning.

It’s not a little cocoa making kids fat. Have a look at the load of sugar they added w the cocoa.

I worked in technology and had global operations. Had a number of people from overseas over the years comment on how simply eating in American makes them gain weight.

Just like our health institutions, FDA sold out years ago to corporate food interests. The food pyramid is plain and simply wrong. Has been for years. Our food is full of crap ingredients, vast majority of which are banned overseas. All brought to you by politicians selling influence to line their pockets.

Why does a yellow cake mix have Red 40 food dye in it? Red 40 in Hershey Chocolate Syrup? With the exception of produce, dairy and meat, the grocery stores are full of crap, and a lot of that is GMO crap.

Whew. Better step off the soapbox before I break a hip. :)

There are 190 calories in 1 cup of Chocolate Milk.
There are 146 calories in 1 cup of Whole Milk.
There are 158 calories in 1 cup of Chocolate Milk (Lowfat)
There are 102 calories in 1 cup of Low Fat Milk.

This debate is about 50 calories extra a day
~3500 calories to a pound (70 days of 50 calories extra but the chocolate milk is not necessarily added, it may satiate & sub for another sweet). When I was in school we had PE & recess everyday. IMO the loss of those outlets has diminished children’s health & the ability to concentrate contributing to discipline problems & dismal education achievements. The power grabbing elites care only about fiefdoms not children or education. This is another ploy to grind down children and assert control. The DOE is evil, control should be return to State & local authorities and should reflect the priorities of the community.

Ages 9 to 13: Daily guidelines for boys

The only reason there is chocolate milk in the school lunchroom is because decades ago someone realized adding sugar to milk that was going bad would cover the taste. Follow the money.

They might also stop teachers from handing out bowls of candy to keep the little hellions from stabbing each other.

Of course, eliminating chocolate milk at school isn’t going to help eliminate all the junk food at their houses.

When I taught spec. ed., some kids would bring us their unopened milk cartons to use in our cooking skills. Not one carton was ever chocolate milk.

At lunch time, all the custodians were manning the cafeteria’s trash cans. Kids would pay for their lunches and walk their trays straight to the garbage. So much waste.

American school lunches are appalling. Go research Europe’s lunches. We serve our kids food that have cancer causing dye’s and ingredients. Kids are also required to work in the kitchen, clean afterwards.

Our healthy food is sky high in stores while unhealthy food is cheap. Processed and boxed food is pushed on poor families because it is cheap.

We’ve down-sized gym and physical education. No time as they have to make more time to push the LGBTQ AGENDA instead.

My friends daughter only kids gym one quarter out of the year due to size of the school.

If school want to combat childhood obesity they need to have the teachers stop feeding sugary foods in the class room before tests.
