Thanks, Zz. It took me a while to figure out what was wrong with me, but once I had it narrowed down, I was able to work on fixing it. Nasty bite. The way it made me feel was worse than anything I’ve ever had to deal with short-term. I do NOT want to take any of them with me.
So when the loaders come, I will insist they all have owrk gloves.
Not bad, thanks, and I’m glad your thumb is better. Today’s activities include a trip to Walmart. Then we have a Quinceanera, and then the Home Again Foundation fundraiser dinner. It’s an organization that builds housing for homeless people. Five year anniversary, and they’re successful on a small scale. Helping some people is better than helping no people!
Cub Scout Day Camp starts Monday. Next time I see James and Their Hair, I need to tell them to sign up for Range Officer on the days they’re not working at the park.
I gave the choir my four zucchini from yesterday, but I’ll probably have more by Sunday evening. I pulled three beets up and cut them up along with some of the greens.
Beet greens are almost as good as the beets themselves! I like them cooked with chopped bacon.
I’ll be struggling with organizing the move on paper. I don’t know that it’s any easier than the actual move but it makes me feel like something is being done, even if it’s a small thing.
Which reminds me, I’m up to Chapter 3 in the second book, “The Ring Goes South.” Slow going because I haven’t felt my best.
Oh, it was a bite! I thought that you had hurt it somehow... I don’t know if you have fire ants where you are, but we do here... if I get a few of their bites in one place, like my ankle... it is an issue for more than a week...
I didn’t know what it was, at first. My son came over to take some stuff to the post office and when he hugged me he told me I was “burnin’ up, Mom!” My right thumb was very hugh and red, and extremely painful, and as soon as he left, I dragged myself to the sofa and went to sleep for a couple of hours.
Then, for some reason, I thought of brown recluse spiders and began to research them and that’s when I realized it might be a bite. In the meantime, I splinted my hand.
When I woke up, I remembered it wad pill-sorting day. Also, I drink cold bottled water. I couldn’t believe a simple thing like opening a pill vial or a water bottle could put me in such agony!
So I then researched what to do about it: antihistamines, pain killers and cold compresses. Unngh. The bad thing is that Terminix was in the week before. I think they’re using watered down solutions, or just pretending to spray. They did that to us when I lived in Del Rio.
Anyway, when I made the bed yesterday, I sprayed behind the headboard and the end tables, and will do it again in a few days. Just in case.
We probably do have fire ants here, but the climate is such that I don’t spend a lot of time outdoors. One thing I’m going to do when I get back to Utah is get me a lounge chair so I can sit in the shade on nice days and just soak up the warmth without being wet in the process.
Back from the Quinceanera, which was a success. I think I’ll lie down for an hour before the dinner.

Thanks, you! I’m going to go lie down and put an ice pack made of peas and carrots on it for a while. Maybe I’ll even put a compress of cider vinegar on it.

I put some Polysporin on the bite site and left it bandaged all night and it looks much better this morning. I’m pretty wiped out, though.
It’s time for the shower to see if I can loosed up the neck muscles a bit. Be back soon...
That area behind the floof looks very much like the mouth of the canyon where I grew up! I loved them, covered in snow or not. I still get homesick for them.
I think the kitteh lives in Europe, but I’m not sure.
Where I grew up is why I liked Germany so much. It was so beautiful. It’s the one place I never got homesick in. :o])
