Good morning. Happy Twosday!

Mrs. ArGee just asked me to flip the system to heat. It’s 71 fs in here. The system is set to heat to 72 fs. We’ll see if she notices the difference. It shouldn’t climb high enough today to need the A/C later.

It’s June, right?

On the Wordle front, with all the words I could think of that ended in those three letters, a lucky guess got me a 3.

Wordle 717 3/6

⬜⬜🟩🟩🟩
🟨⬜🟩🟩🟩
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

A fourteen-hour day is a long day for anyone, but especially for someone James’ age. He managed, though, so good for him.

Kathleen seems to be quite talented. I’m sure she’ll be able to put her creativity to good use in the future.

But I’m with you — the used book store must have made up the rules thinking they were doing a good thing by keeping those under 18 from buying drugs with money they got from selling mom’s books. Silliness.

And yes, they’re not Saving The Climate in any form of the phrase.

My chores today are just putting the clothes away and making up my grocery and supplement lists. I’m very tired. But I’ll make it! Maybe I’ll go through the books again and see if there is something I can donate. I’m afraid it will have to be something else that gets a new home.

Anyway, time to get dressed!

Good morning and good job!

Yes, it’s June but one would never know it.

I already got dressed and watered my vegetables and re-mixed the compost. No snakes in the bin this morning. They must be out and about looking for invertebrates.

Good Tuesday morning, Wordle Workers!

Eliminating so many crucial letters is what did it today. There really wasn’t much to choose from by the time I’d done the second row.

Wordle 717 3/6

⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜
🟨⬜🟩⬜⬜
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

Good luck on your own game!

My goodness! You’ve been busy.

I never knew there were such things as grass and garden snakes until I was about 12. Little green thing about 10” long.

Now I REALLY have to get dressed!!

I had a little brown snake living in the compost bin for a while. I think it was a rough earth snake, but others in the area are saying they have DeKay’s brown snake. Anyway, it’s not there now, and I didn’t see any five-line skinks, either. They’re out enjoying the warm weather.

Interesting. Lots of food for a snake of any kind in a compost bin, considering the types of critters it would draw.

I’m not quite dressed but that’s because I was putting laundry away and trying to make more space in the bedroom. The latter is a hopeless task.

Now, I’ll finish up so I can open the blinds and let some cloudy light come in.

Sounds like you got a lot done! No wonder you were tired...

I have a hard copy of β€œThe Silmarillion” packed away somewhere... for some reason, I never finished it... I plan to reread it someday...

Today's Wordle was my 500th game played, here are the stats to date:

Screen-Shot-2023-06-06-at-7-19-11-AM

I am surprised that I was able to get my 2s slightly above my 6s... for a long time it seemed to be pretty impossible...

Not sure what the duration of my current streak is because I didn't have an account last October when I wasn't able to play for 3 days on this computer... played them on my tablet but they didn't count here... this streak started when I resumed on the computer...

Now that I have an account, I should be able to get around that in the future...

Yeah, and that was all after I had done the laundry. But yes, I was tired.

My copy of “The Silmarillion” is a “First American Edition” printed in 1977. I got about a third of the way through and then my life interfered, so it’s next in line to read from start to finish when I’m done with the Trilogy. Then I will go on to read some of his other works that his son and grandchildren have since had put into print.

Like “The Fall of Numenor,” and “The Children of Hurin.”

Good for you!

I’m still a “newbie” because I have about 70 games to play before I reach my 500th. I suspect they may go to plurals before they go to foreign words, but if the game survives, it could well last for ten years. That is, if they break some of the current rules.

Good job, though! Excellent, in fact!

Snakes in the Bin sounds like a movie starring Samuel L Jackson.

My copy is packed in a box somewhere, so I don’t know what edition it is... I believe it is from 1977 though...

Thanks!

I think the most important aspect is that we all have fun with it, and it is a good way to get the brain in gear each morning...

It was a tough one, got it in five...

I guessed this 5-letter word in 5/6 tries.

β¬›β¬›β¬›β¬›πŸŸ©
β¬›β¬›β¬›β¬›πŸŸ©
β¬›β¬›β¬›πŸŸ¨πŸŸ©
β¬›β¬›πŸŸ¨β¬›πŸŸ©
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

Can you guess this word?

I keep stripping the gears in the morning.

And I have battery problems.
