I think you missed the date. It was 2000. Fooled me too for a minute.

Most of the problems we have have been created by the Washington consensus of years ago between the repubs and dems. China, amnesties, trade, spending, debt, wars, etc etc. Voting for Democrats and Republicans destroys America.

The only path by which China should be accorded a permanent trade agreement, is for China to give up the “emerging nation” designation, and be held to the same account and standards for their contribution to worldwide pollution as is the United States and the EU. China is not and has not been an “emerging nation” for some time now. Either they stand up on their own two feet and do business like the big boys, or they withdraw into their own shell, and become a bigger version of North Korea.
Nobody wants that.

In Nixon’s defense, I believe he opened China to the West as a wedge against the Soviet Union.

Nixon fellated Mao. The left messed up getting rid of him. He was one of them.

In Nixon’s defense, I believe he opened China to the West as a wedge against the Soviet Union. Short term gain, long term loss. Guilty of such myself.

There’s no doubt about it, both parties sold us out in 2000, and we’re paying for it now.
