“ I don’t see DeSantis as an enemy, but one who can be approached as a potential ally. Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer”

—————————————

DeSantis is an enemy in that he is competing for president. For those that say he has not declared, he is VERY aware that this is causing a split in the party. He does not care, very self serving.

If Trump were to ignore DeSantis or be friendly publicly, that only emboldens DeSantis. It signals to Trump voters, DeSantis is an appropriate new leader of MAGA. No one in their right mind would do that.

Part of the reason for calling out DeSantis now is to stop the coy way he is handling this situation. Based on your game plan of keep your enemies closer….I don’t see DeSantis doing that. He gave a speech prior to winning his governorship that praised Trump on many topics. Crickets ever since.

Baris did polling, prior to the indictment, asking if one would vote for anyone besides Trump - 14% said no. I believe the range is 10%-20%. 10% is 7 million voters. Many don’t want to believe anyone would do that. They’re not paying attention. Millions who never voted before Trump, me included (57 yrs old), will not vote after him (unless it’s another Trump-like leader that can motivate millions of voters to be active participants in politics/government). -or- voters start removing the democrats in our own party.

DeSantis is not a motivator. Even those who are MAGA diehards can’t generate the crowds Trump can, MTG, Gaetz, CPAC, Kari Lake etc. Granted, Trump can do this because he has been attacked by every force possible both nationwide and worldwide……he became a martyr because of it. People saw the attacks on him as attacks on them….and it was. If you recall in 2017, the first tactic to destroy Trump was to separate Trumpers from Trump. And as Rush often siad, “Only Trump can break the bond between him and his supporters”. They tried for months, it did not work. Then they encouraged citizens to attack Trumpers. When those two didn’t work the resolved to arrest them (set them up for j6).

Why DeSantis supporters don’t see this as a unique time in history, I don’t understand. Their only argument is that DeSantis can win the general. Well, those who won’t vote for anyone but Trump, will not vote for the man who ousted Trump nor will they vote for the uniparty. DeSantis is already losing one of those two criteria right out of the gate. Time will tell on how ‘effective’ he will be as president. I’m guessing another Bush while the bureaucracy continues to run government as they have done for decades including under Trump. Presidents effect foreign relations, not much else.

DeSantis is a fool for doing what he’s doing. And his career is over already based on his conduct since Sept. One caveat to this theory, if Trump wins 2024, MAGA has limited time to force DC to embrace MAGA. If DeSantis wins 2024, MAGA is dead, meaning voters will go back to sleep. DC won’t change one bit. If DeSantis runs and wins 2028, MAGA is dead for the same reason above.

And for the DeSantis lovers, you won’t change my mind or others by barking about who can win the general. A democrat winning the presidency produced the same failures as a republican presidency BECAUSE PRESIDENTS DON’T RUN GOVERNMENT. Change will only happen when voters demand that their representatives start cleaning house in DC. Give power back to the states, shrink agencies, relocate agencies throughout the US, eliminate lobbying, eliminate campaign donations, end long recesses in congress, term limits, mandatory transparent budgets, one-issue legislation only, election day a permanent holiday, handle elections like banks handle money, end slush fund for misconduct by politicians, no more global intervention, undo the patriot act, close the dept of education, permanently stop the war on coal/gas/oil, start removing outdated/unnecessary laws, cut the government staff in half……and anything else that gives the power back to the people.

The thing that is most concerning to me...is that Trump doesn’t seem to have learned from his past mistakes. Almost like he doesn’t even acknowledge having made any mistakes. I can’t recall hearing him have a mea culpa moment. Then again, that might just be the non-politician trait in him. If he were a typical politician, he would just lie to our faces and pretend to be “sorry” for past mistakes.

It all makes sense when you finally understand that despite campaign rhetoric Trump doesn’t really care all that much about policy. He donated $100k to the Clinton Foundation while Obama was POTUS. That’s not ancient history and literally as far from “MAGA” as you can get. Then as POTUS hired Mike Flynn and John Bolton for the same position, signed near every piece of garbage bill sent to him by Congress, supported Ronna Romney multiple times, did little to nothing to ensure MAGA survives him as a political movement, etc., etc.

Desantis fluffers need to get off the Desantis clown car and get on the Trump train.

Unlike you, I read responses hoping I might learn something. That explains your position and knowledge base - limited to 2 sentences. Brilliant approach…../s

————————————

Do tell…….condense my post to a “concise, non-sleep-inducing point”. Feel free to make paragraphs since I made several points with data to back it up. Take your time, I’ll wait. I’m sure FReepers would prefer that you only hit ‘post’ once, 3 times is not necessary.

FYI - insults never win points but if that’s all you know how to do, have at it. This ‘debate’ is reminiscent of libtard days, thanks for the reminder :)

.”condense my post...”

DeSantis shouldn’t run because I don’t want him to, and besides, Trump is ahead and will win.

Happy to help.

“ DeSantis shouldn’t run because I don’t want him to, and besides, Trump is ahead and will win.”

Childish and inaccurate, of course.

Neither Trump or DeSantis will win. We need AZ, GA and WI to win. WI is gone. There is no path.

Check the data……if you can handle reading more than 3 sentences.

If you didn’t read it, as you claimed, how would you know it isn’t worth reading?

——

How this unfortunate back and forth started:
You respond to one of my general posts and state DeSantis is not the enemy.
I respond to your assertion with my own data, to which you respond ‘not bothering to read it because of its length’.

Instead of just moving on, you take the time to insult me. And it didn’t stop there.

Every post from you has been crass and lacking substance. You won’t discuss the subject……but you will take the time to be disrespectful.

That says alot about you, nothing to be proud of.

Respond if you wish but I won’t waste anymore time on this. If you wish to debate, fine, but insults and disrespect solves nothing.

When you asked for my version, I had little choice but to skim it for a synopsis.

Go ahead and take the last word.

“...solves nothing.”

Implying a problem in need of a solution. An opinion isn’t a solution, and there wasn’t a problem.

Go ahead and take the last word.
