So tell us, NPR, why there are few, if any, “trans men” fighting to compete against actual MEN. Plenty of men in tights willing to compete against women. The other way around, not so much. I wonder why.

Exactly. Not only do they try to mutilate language, they mutilate bodies, and they mutilate minds. They do it for money (small m), they do it for their sexual mutilation fetishes, or they do it because they’re pedophiles or any combination of the three; usually all of them.
So there haven’t been any triple-blind, peer-reviewed “scientific” studies of the obvious.
There are two sexes and three genders. A law forbidding discrimination on the basis of gender would have no meaning. People do not have ender. Nouns and sometimes verbs have gender, minimally in English, extensively in other languages.
I may disagree with the atheist biologist Richard Dawkins on many things but he is correct on this:

Dr. $$$ can keep his illegitimate gender usage. I refuse to recognize it. When someone starts at me about gender transformation I shut him off with a grammar lesson and end “if you want to talk about sex use the word, otherwise I don’t want to hear it.” Using ‘gender’ instead of ‘sex’ speaks instantly of ignorance. It shows the person does not know what he is talking about. But hey, he is a liberal so that goes without saying.
If NPR was not bathed from its Leftist-spawned birth in microphone-close, loud breathy voices and pretentious classical music segment separations, many more people would realize what a vacuous, heavy-handed, hate-America, hate-Israel, hate religious Christians and religious Jews, propaganda machine NPR is and has always been.
