Those are probably jackals, (not dogs, or domesticated) Jackals of the desert were represented with the god, Anubis, the jackal-headed, so that’s weird.

Lay down with dogs, wake up with fleas.
To: sumuam
Probably not. Dogs are easy to tell from jackals.

Lake Moeris is part of the Faiyum Oasis and is where Menes (or Narmer?) was attacked by his own dogs. He escaped on the back of a crocodile (early jetski).
Must be something about the dogs there.

In that case, the kid must laid down with fleas, which gave the embalmers this idea...

The local dog catcher killed the neighbor boy, put a bag on his head and then buried him with dead dogs.

Mom: “I loved my son with all of my heart, but you could keep his dogs. One dog? Sure. Two maybe. But 142? That’s crazy. And I’m not taking care of those filthy animals now that he’s gone. You can bury them with my son.”
Slave: “Yes, Your Highness. As you wish.”

Mostly, Egyptians were the Crazy Cat People of the ancient world, thousands of cat mummies (or fake ones, sometimes with a single body part of a cat) have been found in burials.

I understand the Egyptians interest in cats. Dogs are generally sweet...cats can be like creatures from one of those godlike sparkly lights up in the nighttime Egyptian sky.
