Sorry you lost your friend. Both my sons got the shots, so I worry every day about them. They’re in their 50’s, and the youngest one had surgery for cancerous colon polyps in 2019, which makes me worry even more.
Thanks for sharing your mother’s experience. My niece’s mother-in-law was put in one of the hospitals in Rochester, New York, supposedly with covid. She ended up on a ventilator, and died. My niece told me that her mother-in-law told them that she was never going to leave the hospital alive. They tried to tell her she was wrong, but in the end, she was right.
Yeah, that's what I figured. I got rid of my contacts years ago, but I'm glad you still had them to help you out. They told me to wear sunglasses after the surgery, but I don't have any, and wasn't planning on buying any. I know they will be giving me a guard to wear at night for a day or two. I'll probably just put that on if I have to go out of the house, or tape gauze over that eye.

I didn’t need them that I recall. I was just in awe that I could see individual leaves on trees instead of one green blob tree. Literally in awe.
They were headed in the direction of doing everything they could to harm Mom. Our family, including cousins, called endlessly and bugged them throughout the day, every day.
My sister talked to the doctor. Instead of saying a wimpy “please don’t let my mother die”, it was “DO NOT KILL MY MOTHER!”
At some point they must have figured it just wasn’t worth the hassle and they discharged her.
Probably the best thing for her, and your family.
