I thought modern cruise ships are top heavy ugly but that one takes the cake. I understand these designs maximize the number of cabins with balconies but they still look like they could tip over.

Speaking of cruise ships, has anyone heard from Capt. Tom lately?

His last post was on 9/24/2022.

He said in this post that he was "87 years old with plenty of comorbidities."

Just wondering, as I haven't seen any of his cruising posts in awhile. There has been plenty of cruising news with the major lines dropping vaccine requirements and now testing requirements altogether.

I could do a lot better in some conservative red state with a million dollars, which would include a bunker and armory and a nice greenhouse for growing my own food.

Wow, a million dollars for 237 square feet? No, thanks!

It needs a single owner, who can then rent accommodations, and who thus has an incentive to keep it in repair.

You're right. This set up would make condo associations look like picnics...

I have literally spent 20 years on vessels of different sizes, whether I was working on them, or inspecting them, or seeing if they were in electrical compliance... let me tell you - no matter how big a ship is... they all get small at some point.

Where do I walk the dog? Where do I take him for his favorite activity - chasing the ball?

It’ll never be built, it’s a scam to take millions in down payments.

See the movie “The Producers” for a comparison.

When I win Powerball, I might consider it along with alternatives. I’ve always wanted to cruise the world at a very slow pace. But with $1.9 Billion, I probably could come up with a number of better and less sustainable options that don’t include leftist eco-whackos.

“No man will be a sailor who has contrivance enough to get himself into a jail; for being in a ship is being in a jail, with the chance of being drowned.” At another time he claimed, “A man in a jail has more room, better food, and commonly better company.”

“time shares at sea”

Agreed, or vacation rentals, or is that the same thing?

All I can imagine is the number of broken hips during a bad storm.

No thanks. I like the ground under my feet to be solid.
