term limits
Agreed, emphatically - but IMHO that wouldn’t be truly the turnaround we need. I vote for term limits and minimum age requirements.

The other problem besides politicians “going native” in Washington is people already being natives when they arrive in DC. So the rule - obviously requiring a constitutional amendment - should be that you have to have “private sector” (hate the term) experience to even get elected dog catcher.

Best proxy I can think of is that you have to be 35 yo for any elective office in the country.
