And you know why that was. Voight was in an anti-Veetnam movie. Funny how far he’s come.

Yep!

For real - he’s a true Christian Republican.

“The Deer Hunter” is probably the most devastating movie I’ve ever seen. That’s the one movie that I saw that made me not sleep. That last Russian Roulette scene was brutal; the funeral scene was just sad.

Maybe if John Hughes was alive, he could direct the sequel of Ferris Burlier. It would feature his son doing the same thing his dad did except it would be in a different city (New York City)? But anyway, no one can pull off that magic. So leave it as it is.

We could do a whole thread on most overrated and underrated movies.

I constantly recommend conservative watch the little-known Martin Mull movie “Serial,” written by someone from SF suburbs in the 1970s when wokism was just starting. It is hilarious.

Best Veetnam War movie ever was “Siege of Firebase Gloria,” with R. Lee Ermy.

In my book, THE most overrated movie ever was “Chinatown.”

That would be fun!

I’ve never heard of “Serial”. I’ll see if I can can find it online.

“Siege…”: With Wings Hauser. 80s movie. Haven’t seen that in ages.

“Chinatown”: Incest and water rights. Eh. It’s good but not “WOWOWOWOW!!!!!!!!”.

“Serial” has an all-star cast of B-stars: Mull, Tuesday Weld, Peter Bonerz, Tom Smothers, Christopher Lee (in a comedy, a B star, in a horror, A), William Macy.

So many one-liners, many of which I cannot repeat on FR. WHen you see it, you’ll know exactly what I mean.

I know (Chinatown), right? I’ve seen 100 dramas as good as that.

BTW, the first and fourth seasons of Billy Bob Thornton’s series “Goliath” are tremendous. Seasons 2-3 are not, and Season 2 is downright horrible. However, ya kinda have to go through them to understand everything in 4, so it’s worth it.

Ditto “Bosch,” “The Expanse,” “Titans” (DC Comic fan here).

I just watched the trailer - that music, it’s like a 70s porn!

It’s available on YouTube. I’ll watch it.

Did you watch the first season of “Fargo” with Billy Bob Thornton? I thought it was sublime.

I’ll have to find “Goliath”.

I like comics, but haven’t watched too many of the movies.

RE: Chinatown. Yep. Good but not great.
