Doubling the size of the IRS (FRom roughly 78,000 to roughly 160,000 + employees!) is, put simply, OUTRAGEOUS!

This is like Hitler massing at the border of Russia. "Nothing to see here, folks".

I stated before: The only way to get law abiding citizens to turn in their lawfully owned firearms is to freeze their bank accounts and credit cards via the IRS.

LOL!

I knew that - was just messing with you.

HST, you DO realize that a “payroll” tax IS an INCOME TAX, do you not?

FAIRtax IS NOT an income tax, and SS and Medicare “contributions” are handled quite nicely by the FAIRtax.

Interesting theory - I had never considered that.

I think CW II would be well underway before something like that ever happened.

How about a fair tax to cover MC and SS and a tariff to cover discretionary spending? win-win. No more income tax.

I asked myself the question: How do you take lawfully owned firearms away from peace-loving patriots. You can't! So, you would have to "make" them turn them in by themselves. Bribe, blackmail or threaten. With the capability already in place, the IRS is the logical choice. Doubling the number of agents is for pure tyranny.

U have NEVER voted for a Democrat in my life, and have NO intention of EVER doing so!

If, indeed, something like you suggest should happen, I’ll deal with it in Real Time!

The money is for the IRS to target political opponents of White Liberal ‘Elites’... nothing else makes sense.

Why not, since you agree that the FAIRtax deals nicely (AND FAIRLY!) with SS and MC, have FAIRtax raise ALL government revenue?

Then, tariffs could be devised to punish/reward our trading partners and domestic businesses, which, if I recall correctly, was their purpose in the first place?

The purpose of tariff is to raise revenue and to promote domestic industry. It puts our workers first. That is a good thing and the proper role of government. They should to do that. The FAIR Tax does not do that. The Republican Party was the THE TARIFF PARTY before WWII.

Please read the excerpt from 1924 Republican Pary Platform:

The Tariff

We reaffirm our belief in the protective tariff to extend needed protection to our productive industries. We believe in protection as a national policy, with due and equal regard to all sections and to all classes. It is only by adherence to such a policy that the well being of the consumers can be safeguarded that there can be assured to American agriculture, to American labor and to American manufacturers a return to perpetrate American standards of life. A protective tariff is designed to support the high American economic level of life for the average family and to prevent a lowering to the levels of economic life prevailing in other lands.

In the history of the nation the protective tariff system has ever justified itself by restoring confidence, promoting industrial activity and employment, enormously increasing our purchasing power and bringing increased prosperity to all our people.

The tariff protection to our industry works for increased consumption of domestic agricultural products by an employed population instead of one unable to purchase the necessities of life. Without the strict maintenance of the tariff principle our farmers will need always to compete with cheap lands and cheap labor abroad and with lower standards of living.

We have been over this before, so I hope this time it makes sense to you.

Republicans have a very hard time doing that. Obamacare is very alive and well. I’d hope in 2025, the vote to end this IRS thing, but doubtful.
