Yes.
Ukraine is not going to win. I wish it could but it will not. It is trying to fight a war on charity and attrition. It has won some amazing victories, like sinking a Slava class cruiser, but they are being ground down. The sooner the Russians win, the sooner Ukrainians stop dying. So, “Go Russia.”
Another thing we have accept is that are likely no good guys in this war. Good people dying to protect their corrupt government just makes me sad.
If I was actually enthusiastic about the Russians it would be more like “GO RUSSIA!” which it is not. The Russians saw an existential threat and moved to deal with it. A lost this fault rests with us. We’ve been talking about “weakening Russia” and using Ukraine to do so. You keep poking a bear and it mauls you - what did you expect?
Trump reminded us repeatedly, we were being ripped off and robbed by NATO...
Funny how that seems to work.
Possibly one of the reasons I am so glad we’re out Afghanistan and don’t care about the Afghanis.
That is the way. There probably wouldn’t even be a war if kept that attitude.
Nope.
Just tired of people dying for stupid reasons. I like the Ukrainians and am amazed by their response to their nation’s call.
I don’t like their government and don’t consider it worth their lives.
There ain’t a good guy in this war, just good people trapped between two corrupt regimes.
in this report,
https://images.transparencycdn.org/images/CPI2021_Report_EN-web.pdf
Ukraine is rated at 32 out of 100 (100 being perfect) in corruption levels. In other words, very corrupt.
RUSSIA IS 28, SLIGHTLY WORSE.
The Ukrainians seem to be a good, brave people crushed between two corrupt regimes.
Propoganda straight from Russian “intelligence”.
Knowing who your sources are makes a difference in what you believe.
We’re only 67 on that list? We should probably rank lower. Our Congresscritters have probably stolen billions.
If people believe that from whatever source, I cannot speak for them. I personally wouldn’t believe anything coming from ABC, NBC, or the NYT, never mind CNN, and some obscure “Russian Tabloid” might be on another planet for all I care. I don’t believe ANY media ANYWHERE. None. I may have to parse it to find a grain of truth the same way Soviet citizens used to parse the excrement from Pravda to obtain a husk of truth, but that is my business, since it is my time.
That said, whether I believe it coming from a Russian news source is one thing, and I don’t, because I don’t care where it came from.
Whether I think Zelensky and the entire Ukrainian government are corrupt pieces of New World Order crap, and are happy to take our money meant for munitions or other things and stick it in their bank accounts or sell the things we give them for money is quite another thing.
And I believe those scum running Ukraine, being all in bed with Soros and the Dems, and modeling themselves after the likes of Trudeau in Canada (who is quite the fan of Soros and those a-holes who mean our country ill and wish to destroy it) are FULLY CAPABLE of that level of corruptness. And I have plenty of “real news” commentary, footage, and imagery showing fully that I am right on target with the likes of Zelensky and Trudeau, not to mention the Democrat Party.
After all they are in such an existential fight for survival that they have to take the time to announce to the world they are going to legalize homosexual marriage. Yes, those are the people I want to send 40 Billion USD to, with zero oversight and no strings attached.
Anyone who believes anything coming directly from any media source anywhere in this world today is mentally deficient or abysmally lazy.
Or a Leftist.
Or all three.
Ha, Ha, Go Russia!
Yea, sure sounds like it...........
Russia will not defeat Ukraine—their own corruption will sink them in the end.
I meant it as in “Pocket Change for A Puppet”.
There's buzz on the Greek sandal telegraph about this, according to Alex Christoforou.
The problem is that Russia has more to be corrupt with. When the last Ukrainian tank is destroyed, their last artillery piece is silenced and their soldier is dead, there will still be Russians.
Sometimes you get a no-win situation.
Screw them ALL, kick the plug out and let it all go down the drain. I AM sick of this crap and believe we’re all being played for fools by all sides, especially our own.
From a Russian source. No conflict there.
The article is from Komsomolskaya Pravda. The inventors of fake news.
The problem is that Russia has more to be corrupt with. When the last Ukrainian tank is destroyed, their last artillery piece is silenced and their soldier is dead, there will still be Russians.
It’s the opposite, actually. When the guns go silent there will be still be a Ukraine and thousands dead of Russians will never see their homes again.
And by the way-just to be clear-if you detected a degree of anger and pithiness in my response to you, it was not directed at your observation.
Anyone who is not cognizant of the essence of your post needs to be reminded.
My anger is directed at this situation in both Russia and Ukraine, and for a variety of reasons, all leading back to this country and how we are conducting ourselves.
I am filled on a daily basis with a great deal of anger, and I work hard to put things in proper context and think them through. I don’t always succeed wholly, but it is not for lack of effort.
