NRA slams Senate’s bipartisan gun control package saying it ‘falls short at every level’
The Senate voted to advance the gun control bill at a 64 to 34 vote
The National Rifle Association slammed the Senate’s bill text for its bipartisan gun control package, saying it “falls short at every level.”.
“The NRA will support legislation that improves school security, promotes mental health services, and helps reduce violent crime. However, we will oppose this gun control legislation because it falls short at every level. It does little to truly address violent crime while opening the door to unnecessary burdens on the exercise of Second Amendment freedom by law-abiding gun owners,” the NRA said in a statement Tuesday.
The Senate released the 80-page text of the bill on Tuesday, which includes grants for states that implement their own red flag laws, would expand background checks for gun buyers under 21, creates penalties for straw purchases of firearms, requires more gun sellers to register as Federally Licensed Firearm Dealers.
The Senate voted to advance the bill at a 64 to 34 vote, with 14 Republicans supporting the effort. The procedural vote signals the bill would have enough support to pass the 60-vote threshold needed to break a filibuster in the Senate when it comes up for an official vote.
The NRA continued in its statement that the legislation “can be abused to restrict lawful gun purchases, infringe upon the rights of law-abiding Americans.”
This legislation would “use federal dollars to fund gun control measures being adopted by state and local politicians. This bill leaves too much discretion in the hands of government officials and also contains undefined and overbroad provisions – inviting interference with our constitutional freedoms,” the NRA statement said.

A new study analyzing the impacts of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine on sperm count showed that men receiving the jab suffered a sustained loss in sperm count. The news comes after years of mockery by corporate media outlets over the concern, as well as false “fact checks” by outlets with direct links to vaccine manufacturers.
The concerning findings were published in an Israeli study – To Investigate The Effect of COVID-19 BNT162b2 (Pfizer) Vaccine on Semen Parameters Among Semen Donors – published June 17th, 2022.
The study explored concerns about the “possible detrimental impact on male fertility” as a result of the COVID-19 vaccine, with researchers concluding:
While researchers described the effects as “temporary,” the study’s cross-tabs show that after 150 days sperm concentration was nearly 16 percent lower than men’s baseline and that total motile count (TMC) was nearly 20 percent below.

US importing baby formula from Mexico to ease shortage
The Biden administration announced Wednesday that it is providing logistical support to import the equivalent of about 16 million 8-ounce baby formula bottles from Mexico
The White House has been working to make supply more available as it has faced pressure from parents over supply issues after regulators in February shuttered a Michigan plant run by Abbott that is the largest domestic manufacturer of baby formula over safety concerns. The plant reopened on June 4 after the company committed to additional sanitizing and safety protocols, but shuttered again more than a week ago after severe weather caused damage to the plant.
The company said it needs time to assess damage and re-sanitize the factory after severe thunderstorms and heavy rains swept through southwestern Michigan on June 13.
The White House says that by June 26, it efforts, dubbed “Operation Fly Formula,” will have brought 32 flights and almost 19 million 8-ounce bottle equivalents of infant formula into the U.S.
