The tank (and the surface warship, and the submarine, and the jet fighter...) have been declared dead so many times over their existence that they are the equivalent of Lazarus with a triple bypass.
Does the employment and defenses of modern tanks need review?
Yes.
Does it also not help Russian tank loss numbers when Ivan seems to have forgotten the whole concept of combined arms maneuver?
Also yes.
Tanks are the most survivable land vehicle on the battlefield, does that mean that less survivable vehicles like APCs, trucks, and light vehicles are outdated?
No.
Tanks and their tactics will evolve to the new threats which in turn will evolve. The classic measure - countermeasure dance will continue as it has ever since Cain developed the anti-Able rock.
There are approximately 15 SU-57. 10 test birds and 5 production.
There are less than 30 T-14 tanks currently in the Russian inventory.
Those numbers aren’t doing squat in the face of NATO.
The light spot on top of the exploded tank?
Is that the inside of the hatch cover?
The blast area is directed to the right side of the photo. Did their canon explode? Or did they take a hit from precision artillery.
I don’t see any real sign of the canon barrel.
I’m under the impression that though it may be more expensive than they anticipated, Russia is winning this thing.
RE: And nobody has seen a T-14 Armata tank because it’s vaporware.

Title: Why The T-14 Armata Tank Best Tank in the World
Prototypes exist. But it’s already 5 years behind the procurement schedule and some industry professionals doubt Russia’s ability to produce it.

is there a ballistics plate in that vest?
You write, “I would think that a tank in modern warfare is outdated and a recipe for certain death. Locate with a drone, and pulverize it with artillery. I would think susceptible to IED type of munitions as well. Disable with IED, pulverize with artillery.”
Outdated holds true for any ship at sea: Locate and destroy with missiles:
Rinse and repeat.
the plane is nothing but a couple of prototypes or has so many issues
—
I heard both. And far too expensive for broke Orc Land.
All Russian tanks except possibly the prototype T-14 have the same auto-loader ammo placement that makes them vulnerable. There is no way to judge what took the tank out. Most are taken out by artillery fire. UA also uses buggies with ATMs mounted to harass rear areas.
Does it look like there is another tank in the background (upper left) that isn’t burned out? What’s up with that?
—
BMP escorting tank.
They are both prototypes and only a few examples have been made - T-14s need to accompanied by tow trucks, unreliable and have the same flaw as the antique T-64 - T90 series.
SU-57s are too expensive to make more of than a dozen of so, and have only been used briefly in combat once and that in the traditional Orc doctrinal role as flying artillery.
The Orc troops don’t wish they had better stuff, but just stuff - they are running out of everything including tanks. The only thing the Orcs have in abundance are artillery shells.
Your shot has reactive armor and a protective mesh in place and the commander obscures the remote machine gun mount.
Note the Ukraine image is from the rear also.
White spot is inside of the hatch is showing white were the Bondo is exposed.
barrel is long pointy thing on right side; we are seeing the rear of the tank.
looks like arty fire took both vehicles out - the tank and the escorting BMP (left background).

Russia’s Uralvogonzavod shuts down production. It will no longer be able to assemble any T-72 tanks

same goes for all other varieties, except the T-14 which is too expensive. Also needs tow trucks for its constant breakdowns.

Too heavy. Left home.
Interesting, only Ukrainians refer to Russians as Orcs.
The thing is, if/when they run out of “stuff”, they may start lobbing nukes.
