My oath of office is to the U.S. Constitution, not to any foreign nation. Congress is trying yet again to ram through a spending bill – one that I doubt anyone has actually read – and there’s no oversight included into how the money is being spent.
All I requested is an amendment to be included in the final bill that allows for the Inspector General to oversee how funds are spent. Anyone who is opposed to this is irresponsible.
While I sympathize with the people of Ukraine, and commend their fight against Putin, we cannot continue to spend money we don’t have. Passing this bill brings the total we’ve sent to Ukraine to nearly $54 billion over the course of two months.
It’s threatening our own national security, and it’s frankly a slap in the face to millions of taxpayers who are struggling to buy gas, groceries, and find baby formula.

Thank you, Senator Rand Paul. When a Republican is in office, the media and the Dems ( actually same team) proclaim loudly and often that anything the Republican want to spend money on ( like a border wall) MUST BE PAID FOR. What happened to that requirement?

The baby formula shortage has been going on for a while and it has just recently come to our attention.
A few months ago Abbott Labs which makes baby formula was shut down because 5 infants got sick, 2 died, an investigation was launched into whether it was the formula or not.
Abbott recalled formula but as far as I know were not found guilty of tainted formula.
Does anyone know anything different?
Abbotts 2 facilities can’t get the go ahead from the FDA to start up again.
But the illegal babies coming into this country have plenty of formula at the border.
I read about some of this,so thank you for this information.
