The chances of any soviet union rebirth and russia have been declared dead at least twice since 1992..... In 2000 when poland was brought into NATO and in 2015 when the World Bank Rescued the rubble from total collapse. 2013-2016 is the time period will be when we notice the change democrats being friendly and flexible to russia, a ton of Wall Street money was just plain vaporized by investment into Russia. The conventional means on getting that back was graft, graft in 2016 russia did not work, the rubble was not worth it. The swing to Ukraine happened when the BRICK (Brazil, Russia, India, China, Korea) funds went to a BUICK (Brazil, Ukraine, India, China, Korea) investment strategy to keep exposer to the former soviet states per the prospectus that merged Russia and Ukraine as one investment environment.

The reason the pro russia political lost favor is that any state that was closely tied to Russia was absolutely uninvestable because of the ruble crashed in 2015-2017, and 2018-2021 russia showed remarkable gains only because investors thought there was something there to recover.
I would say foreign investment is over in russia until putin is in a glass box like his comrades.

but what matters is that Russian leadership believes it is true.

Russian leadership obviously does not believe it is true. No one in their right mind would believe it, and, in any case, they are prove pathological liars and killers.

Proven* not “prove”.

I was writing terribly since I was on my cell phone earlier, and yet I make the same kind of typos on my laptop just now.

Putin has been stating his position on this topic publicly for years/decades actually.

He has reasons for that view—there is nothing unreasonable about drawing that conclusion.

It is not reasonable to claim that anyone who disagrees with you on a debatable proposition is a “pathological liar”.

Absolutely nothing new here. The NATO issue is a red herring. Russians have been killing their smaller neighbors since long before NATO arrived on the scene. Naturally, they wanted NATO because of that. Putin just uses the NATO boogie man as a useful tool to dupe the uniformed and historically ignorant.

I wasn't calling you a pathological liar. I was calling the Russians pathological liars, which is true.

They lied about the invasion. They told hundreds of lies in the run up to the invasion. They lied during the invasion and after the invasion. And all that's just recent. They've been lying to us systematically for decades from everything to missile defenses to their support of Iran's Mullahs.

And no, there is objectively no threat to Russia from any NATO country. It is a defensive alliance. If not, please point out what nukes Estonia or any of the Baltic countries have, or what anti-missile system they possess that would save them from a Russian nuclear strike, or what military capability any of them have, or what permanent NATO forces are stationed there that are capable of invading Russia.

The Russian view is much more nuanced than you are presenting here.

They view the current clowns in DC as dangerous and demented.

Kamala Harris went to Germany in late February and said that “we would have no objection” if the Ukraine entered NATO.

That was waving a red flag at a bull—and the bull charged.

Surprise, surprise, surprise.

“Think Donald Trump minus all that hot air, Big Macs, and add a willingness to off his enemies.”

This addition was not necessary for the author to add, but he did.

I guess it was an insult.

One cannot compare President Trump to putin. The author does call putin a thug, I’ll give the author that BUT there can be no similarities and is no similarity of putin with President Trump. truitt is a thug for suggesting such

Sure 'one' can. Trump and putin are both white men, and leaders of their Country.

Is that a legitimate comparison?

Like I said before, you are too sensitive, some might call you a 'snowflake'.

Just like there are Nazis here in the USA..

Wrong again cabron...in the United States real Nazis are treated like pariahs, not elected to positions of power in government. There are no annual marches or memorials for Nazis or their kinder on American soil, like there is in the Ukraine.

Wrong again cabron...

I was, of course, actually referring to the Putinists, at least two of whom have used racial slurs against me on this forum.

I'll also add that the Nazi websites, the Daily Stormer, etc., are all unified in their support of Russia.

As for your BS about Ukraine, it has been shown to be absurd on so many occasions I'm not sure I even have the energy to repeat it. Maybe you should have trolled me about 2 hours ago. Now I'm in vacation mode!

The U.S. triggered a coup d'état in Ukraine in 2014

FAKE. The Ukrainian people desired freedom.
