US To Bring Back Pirates To Seize Russian Yachts
Centuries ago, whenever Kings and Queens wanted to quietly wage an unofficial war against their enemies, they issued something called a “Letter of Marque” to private sailors known as Privateers.
The Letter would legally authorize these Privateers (which was just a polite way of saying ‘Pirate’) to seize other kingdom’s ships and cargo while at sea.
It was essentially government-sanctioned theft.
Well, the United States Congress is bringing back this practice.
A recent bill that was introduced would “authorize the President of the United States to issue letters of marque and reprisal for the purpose of seizing the assets of certain Russian citizens.”
So, if the bill passes, children can once again legitimately dream of becoming a pirate when they grow up.
The last time the US authorized privateers was during the War of 1812.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters in response to the Monday statements of President Biden, “unlike many Western countries, including the United States, Russia does not engage in state-level banditry.”
President Biden had said he has seen “evolving intelligence” that points to possible Russian government preparations for cyberattacks against the United States. The president was mainly addressing tech and internet companies in the US, urging the private sector to “immediately” harden “cyber defenses.”
Arrrrr….gggh. This regime finds a new low, every day.

I’m old enough to remember when our country touted that this was the best place to invest in and do business because we had laws that respected property rights.
Then, asset seizure of even citizens was allowed, not when someone was tried and convicted of a crime, but even a local highway patrolman thought someone looked suspicious or had some cash on them. ( hundreds not thousands)
So I guess it’s not surprising they want to sanction property theft of a certain nationality or political belief. I believe Biden encouraged Trudeau to seize property of the trucker and their supporters for peaceful protest.

That’s why I say if someone wants to transition, they can make that decision as an adult. If you have to be 21 to buy tobacco and alcohol, you should be 21 to make all discretionary health decisions.
