I wonder, is there any place in the US where winter (with snow) occurs mostly in December and January, occasionally during early February, but Spring is just around the corner by the end of February? The Spring here is late and short. Summer is absolutely gorgeous, as is the Fall. Winter seems to last from November to late April. I’m not a native to the Midwest, but I do love the change of seasons here. I just Winter wouldn’t last as long as it does. Oh, and I wish there were more sunny days here too. Even partly sunny days help. Can you tell it’s gray, cloudy, and below freezing for me today? I will still bundle up and walk for an hour in the fresh air. The weather yesterday didn’t permit it.

That is exactly how it is here in the higher altitudes in the mountains. They get that snow for a couple months that we down in the flat lower lands do not get. But down here in the lower altitudes we have already had a few 80 degree days in a row. So we are just around the corner from our spring. :)
We are in Az and it is much more diverse in environment and climate areas than most think. It is not all dry desert and blistering hot as thought. We have Mountain areas and prairie areas along with the desert lowlands. Just depends where you are located and at what altitude. There are areas where the microclimate is almost perfect, not too hot in the summer and not to cold in the winter. Quite bearable year round with long beautiful falls and springs. :)
Thanks for the info. I’ll have to start looking into that!
And I can testify coming to Azvfrom CA. Where we are in northern Az it is probably one of the most God fearing conservative places left in this country. :)
