The screenplay writer! That's the one to really look at. Why did he include shooting scenes in a Western? Guilty!
I posted this earlier this morning:

It seems to me that the new Alec Baldwin Show is following a 13-week story arc procedural format.Baldwin is trying to influence public opinion by treating the killing of Halyna Hutchins as a TV show's season story arc.
Each week's episode will further advance the plot twist that Baldwin, who "shot" Hutchins in week 1, is not the "real killer." Each week, a new plot development will be introduced to the viewer. By week 13, the audience will be convinced that Baldwin was in innocent bystander, and that a long sequence of events conspired against him to leave the hero of the show in an externally seen compromising position, but that "what really happened" was what the viewer was NOT seeing that was actually going on.
By week 13, it will become a "Who Shot Halyna?" cliff-hanger season-ending episode. Season 2 will begin with the trial of Alec Baldwin, where the "real killer" will be exposed after another series of episode plot-twists that show how Hutchins was "really" killed, and that it wasn't Baldwin's fault.
