Better than the Rangers!!
As you can see the team name broke off into at least 2 pieces
Not surprising they had lots of people lined up waiting for the store’s grand opening. But how many of them were sports memorabilia collectors speculating the possible, perhaps probable fail the name change may turn out to be, and that such paraphernalia may have value in the future as historical oddities?
That’s not saying much.
Maybe Cleveland “Rockers”?
Will fans of the Guardians be known as wards?
Liberals absolutely abhor minorities, such as Indians.
They are only comfortable with different races, cultures, ethnicities etc...if they consider themselves guardians of those whom they consider inferior, who need their guardianship.
There are some stupid nicknames in college sports such as the Syracuse Orange--why couldn't they have been the Grapefruit or the Banana? And the UCLA Bruins, named for the slow-witted bear in the medieval tales of Reynard the Fox.
Cleveland Cucks
At least the Astros won’t steal that sign.
Hee hee.
MLB Hall of Fame manager Whitey Herzog stated in an interview recently that for a typical 9-inning game with 54 total outs in 2021, 22 of those outs are by strikeout (40%), along with 10 walks. So, the results of 32 plate appearances (PAs) each 9-innings of baseball come from not hitting the ball into play, which out of roughly 76 PAs each 9-innings is 42%
In 1993, which was prior to the 1994 strike season (no World Series) and subsequent steroid era, a full 9-inning game averaged about 11 strikeouts, 7 walks, and 78 PAs. So, strikeouts have doubled since 1993, and 23% of PAs come from not hitting the ball into play vs. 42% today.
It was originally orange the color, not orange the citrus fruit. I thought it might be an Ulster William of Orange thing, but no other college wanted to be orange, so Syracuse grabbed it.
I see what you did there

You can thank Nike for that.
Syracuse used to be the Orangemen, until someone complained that that was sexist.
“Chicks dig the long ball.”
Should have remembered righty tighty, lefty loosey.
Bingo.
They were the Orangemen until 2004.
