I want an HONEST discussion. Thus far, you are proving yourself not much different from TexGator.
***I was thinking the same of you. I was focused on current, existing solutions and lack thereof while you are comparing the future “solution” which do not exist to essentially “nameplate costs” of current, existing solutions. The technology can’t even compete NOW with cheap natural gas; once you look at the costs of storing the waste [and yes I do consider 3MI/Fukushima/Chernobyl to be nuke waste that needs to be cleaned up] then the costs are astronomical compared to cleaning up something like, say, a beat up old gas plant. The costs are so high that they haven’t even gotten a solution going yet. Especially here in America. You dishonestly wanna talk about why it’s the fault of politicians that there’s no solution in place but you won’t acknowledge that there’s no current solution in place. That repository fund is simply bullshiite.

No...you want to jam a particular point down my throat, and I ain't having it. You do that everywhere you have posted, not just on FR and I have let it slide because I want "the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth".

The reason to nuclear costs are high is flatly and simply due to politics...not science. And now the same is being done to "anything other than solar or wind".

I've been studying nuclear and all forms of alternative energy since 1970. NO form of alternative energy is honestly laying forth all costs, they are all buried under layers and layers of propaganda

I know solar and wind flatly do not work at a utility scale, since I went through the "big Texas freeze" last winter.

The fee to build and use the US repository was imposed up front and is still being paid, even though work on the repository was virtually complete when it was abandoned. The repository may be "bullshite", but the money being paid certainly is not.

***Uhh, no. The reason those 3 accident sites are still not cleaned up is that it’s incredibly expensive to do so, not because of some politics.

Cleanup of radioactive nuke waste is the Achilles Heel of Fission. Once that point is addressed, it is uncompetitive.

If it looks like a dog, barks like a dog, eats like a dog, walks like a dog it’s probably a dog. Fission is a dog.

"Uhh, no. The reason those 3 accident sites are still not cleaned up is that it’s incredibly expensive to do so, not because of some politics."

The reason the accidents happened in the first place is exactly and precisely due to politics, and anti-nuclear politics at that.

"Cleanup of radioactive nuke waste is the Achilles Heel of Fission. Once that point is addressed, it is uncompetitive."

And the way to do that is by proper reactor design and siting up front so it never happens.

I happened to just run across this little YouTube video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EFfxMx6WJs

Guess who is about to get into fission, big time....China. And they appear to be about to "do it right"...non-uranium (thorium) cycle, modular reactors, nonaqueous system, and on and on.

I’m not interested in your whataboutisms. The Achilles Heel of Fission is waste disposal, whether from accidents or not. You refuse to address the CURRENT state of it but it didn’t stop you from insulting. Hence, the level of argumentation aint worth following up with you.

***Baloney. You’re engaging in obfuscation of the points surrounding the current state of nuke waste disposal. You aren’t pursuing the truth and at the same time your characterization of me is of one who relentlessly pursues the truth. You have relinquished the fight for truth, so I’m done with you on all your whataboutisms over Fission.

Actually, you’re the one who refuses to address the current state, of much of anything. Bye.

Kevmo: The reason those 3 accident sites are still not cleaned up is...

WW: The reason the accidents happened in the first place
***Here is an example of you throwing around whataboutisms, not acknowledging the issue under discussion, and using obfuscation.

Do you not understand the meaning of the word “bye”? You can stop posting to me, emailing me, or contacting me in any way.

Like the AM says in #4, a thick skin helps. Also, bein’ the first to throw out insults means you started it.
