That’s a good list.

I’d like to offer that, if you’re diabetic and taking metformin, you should inform your doctor that you are interested in the health benefits of taking zinc (and maybe the other stuff) in the Age of Covid. He will undoubtedly tell you to either stop taking the metformin, or altering it’s dosage, while on this regimen. Zinc does not mesh well with metformin, and you could suffer an adverse reaction.

If you’re hit with Covid-19, zinc is very important in dealing with it. Like I say, consult with your doctor.

As I said at the top, that is a really good list.

I take 10k iu because that’s what it takes get your vitamin d levels above 50 ml

I live in Washington state (latitude is an important element in this) and I got tested in July of this year and was at 95 ng/ml. Doc was a little concerned and asked me to reduce my dosage from 5,000 IU per day to the same dosage every other day. I think I'll keep it as a daily dosage during the non-summer months then go every other day in the summer.

My experience with my parents in a nursing home; vitamins are verboten and will be confiscated. They want to break down their immune systems so the occupants die and the room is reoccupied.

I’m sorry but this is the truth. Once you go into the nursing home the goal is death.

Amazing that your daughters symptoms sound the same as all the flu episodes I have ever had throughout my life.

The current test for “covid” can’t tell the difference between the “covid” and the flu.

I suspect they will not allow relatives to give residents dietary supplements is a defense against predatory lawyers.

Anything consumed by the residents is going to have to get past the attending physician and/or the resident dietitian.

Senior citizens are very susceptible to drug interactions and unusual drug effects attributable to their age.

It is a good idea to have a geriatric specialist look at the drugs your elder is taking because of the occasional unusual drug interactions that can pop up as your elder ages. A drug that they have been taking safely for years can suddenly cause them problems as their doctor adds drugs to their daily or weekly regimen. Or simply because they are aging and their bodies metabolism changes.

You will have to get your elders doctor to add vitamin D to their regular blood test to ensure that they are not deficient and recommend that they get more than the minimum daily requirement.

I’ve known several who had a bad run and two elderly who died.

Glad she’s over it.

The only thing I see missing there is a zinc ionophore. Taking Zinc without one is pointless. It cannot pass through the cell membrane sufficiently to make much of a difference.

Quercetin is good zinc Ionophore. I’ve been taking 500mg a day of it, with zinc since May of last year, as well as 5000 of D, selenium and a b-complex.
