Baldwin was the Producer so is on the hook as the person who has ultimate “The buck stops here” responsibility for what went on in this movie production. There is no way he can escape that.
The actor/actress” are not gun experts and are not expected to be one as far as checking the weapon themselves. The person who hands the gun to the actor is supposed to be the “expert” and have done all necessity and required safety checks. That individual is on the hook criminally and for any civil actions.
It’s probably a cost thing. A blank costs little compared to what the CGI editing folks costs would be.
What exact model of handgun was being used?
So Alex’s was number 4 accident…… you have got to be kidding me! If true you have to have a complete re-think about Libs caring for human life. Explains why people walked off the set. Also replacing them with ‘locals’ right off the bat also speaks volumes about the producers’ values and concerns. The court trial is going to be very interesting with just the news released so far.

He’s the producer, he’s 100% responsible for happens on that set. If the union walked off the set because of safety issues and he said to hell with it and continued the shoot without addressing those safety issues, he can kiss his career and money goodbye and I don’t doubt that’s exactly what happened considering his extreme arrogance and ego.
Oh maaan, I hope he gets his butt sued into oblivion, what a scumbag. I heard he was the producer of that movie. If so, that makes him 100% responsible for everything that went on and if he ignored safety concerns he is TOAST.
Poor Alec…….his big mouth will haunt him forever now.
Kyle Rittenhouse ain’t got nothin on Alec Baldwin.
“I don’t doubt that’s exactly what happened considering his extreme arrogance and ego.”
It’s interesting how life has a way to take someone down off his high horse.
“ Call me a conspiracy theorist, but union workers walk off set due to complaints about conditons and are replaced on the morning of the incident. Is it possible a disgruntled union worker placed a live round in the gun……”

They walked off due to not getting paid for 3 weeks, their hotel rooms taken away, Covid Safety, and GUN SAFTY ISSUES.
The the final straw came when there were 2 accidental discharges with live ammo.
Baldwin’s shooting incident was number 3.
Why live ammo?
Because blanks don’t give the look of recoil that a live round gives.
So sometimes real ammo is used in isolated controlled settings.
But this was a low budget film so hiring and bringing in experts from L.A. was expensive.
Baldwin’s body double apparently had the 2 firearm incidents before the crew walked. So this was an on-going problem.
Real ammo is probably cheaper and more readily accessible in that part of the world than blanks.
I didn’t know that Baldwin was the producer. If so, yes he’s going to be “ on the hook “ as you say, (or at least his production company) especially since his production manager was told about earlier gun discharges and apparently did nothing.
In a sane world he would serve time. I pray he turns to Jesus in repentance and faith.
Nothing would surprise at this point, unless Baldwin actually has to serve time for this action.
Sorry, but he was the problem. Every gun that is handed to me is presumed to be loaded unless I check myself which I do 100% of the time. Also, I never ever point a gun at a living thing unless I intend to kill it.
