... putting a disinfectant into your body..

Once, after flying when I _thought_ I was recovered from a cold, but wasn’t, I had to see *The Flying Doctor* on an island in the Coral Sea. She prescribed Betadine nasal rinse and gargle.
Luckily, in that location, there was no need to dive to see wildlife. All you had to do was submerge your head and it was all there.
The iodine rinse/gargle did shorten the duration of my infection and gave some symptomatic relief.
...Dentists...

Back in the ancient days of my youth, dentists used an iodine mouthwash. Can still recall the smell/taste of the stuff. They didn’t have the spritzing devices, the patient had to swish and rinse repeatedly during the procedures. There was even a little sink with running water to flush it attached to the chair.
Haven’t thought of any of that in years.
i don’t recall that- but i didn’t really go to dentists till i was around 38- never had cavities till then- that’s when they really began to go quick- sugar junkie and smoker- not good for teeth-
My post was in response to someone who had an allergy to betadine. My internal disinfectant is scotch so I’m good to go....
