Eventually they will be able to make these old videos look like they were taken with a modern video camera.

I've seen a number of these off and on over the past few years, they've all been of some interest, but this is the first one that I found compelling. And the improvement in technology is obvious. I've tried the still photo animation software, and it works better on some than on others. Ten years or so ago, someone tried using Robert Johnson's two (?) known photos as a platform to sort of "Clutch Cargo" lipsync a few of his recordings. Worked, just okay, but creepy.

You may have seen this...I know it is contrived and all (and even creepy) but I found it compelling!

You can imagine the facial twitches you might have seen while they sat for painters or sculptors...:)

There’s a bunch of those. My least favorites are those that purport to animate an accurate image, then completely change the facial features in the process, almost as if the software merely cartoon-ized a living person that was moving their head on camera.

Hi.

Thanks for the ping.

After careful observation, I don’t see one bottle of wine, or beer. Or Mr. Jack Daniels. This is the beach? Where are the coolers, fishing poles, and seines?

These are obviously fakes.
