I have heard, many years ago, the thought that when Christians are taken in the rapture that one explanation will be alien abductions, and that to prove your loyalty to the human race, you will get a mark, or be chipped, as your civic duty. That way humanity knows who is on their side against the alien threat.
Of course, we are currently being primed for mass tracking with the whole vaccine and vaccine passport thing, and shown our willingness to submit to our overlords all for our own good, of course.
What better panic porn than an uncontrollable threat of alien invasion?
