Look for bigger, stable, diversified companies like P&G, Clorox, etc. set it to reinvest any dividends. Been doing that with a portion for 30+ years. Then keep a small amount that set aside that you use to buy stocks with more potential upside, but also more risk.

Put half in Exxon and half in AEP Power. Forget what the stock price does and figure that the dividends are three times what your money would do in a CD.

Our biggest worry now is hyper- inflation. Be sure you have no variable rate loans.

A few thousand dollars worth of ammo is certain to appreciate.

Once 3D printer companies like Defense Distributed go public, they will skyrocket with their GhostGunnerII platform. There will likely be some public 3D printer compandoes able to print houses.

The thing to keep an eye out for with water fab tech is whether they rely heavily on China or Taiwan.

I made good money off Texas Instruments.

Nice thing about those is they’re tax free. But low yield.

VOO

Vanguard ETF that mimics the S&P 500. It has been skyrocketing from the Trump years - and still going up, 50% increase in the past year. Biden’s taxes, regs, and all round doucheness may just crush the equity market, so beware.

Also throws a dividend.

No home except equities leaves an overpriced market, so beware.

Low yield might look good if the market blows up.
Although what I expect is The Fed to become market and engage in buying everything.

Why the /s?

Pot growing is a very high margin endeavor. Putting down $5k on a couple of acres and some minimal farm equipment could yield 40x that amount in 5 years.

I don’t have any advice other than words have meanings. If someones call themselves a fool, there’s a good chance they are accurately describing themselves. I have never read a book whose title begins with the complete idiot’s guide. I don’t think insulting yourself is a good place to start from. I prefer simple humility.

My two biggest climbers are TDC and WFC and both have plenty of room to grow. TSLA is a strong bet for the future but its price per share is much higher where as both TDC and WFC are under 50 and I could see both easily twice what they are now eventually. I’m up 11.5% since last year but my TDC is up 66%. I wish I had put more into it at the end of last year. I split the difference I bought SNOW also. I think both will perform well in the next two years. ACN and other large consulting companies will likely see huge growth as Covid19 recedes. Airlines, rental, and hospitality will explode eventually as travel truly recovers. You wont be disappointed in investing in any stock that suffered unnaturally from Covid19.

You are asking a bunch of total strangers for investment advice because you expect to 20 times your money in 5 years? It can be done. Just buy 5000 dollars worth of lottery tickets. Make sure you play it all in a single draw if it is a lotto because the more tickets you buy the better your chance of winning a single drawing. You would be smart to take ever dollar in your checking account on payday and also take out a home equity loan. But absolutely make sure you buy as many tickets for the same draw as you can. You will probably get half of your money back so you won’t be completely broke after you finish crying. You will want to give whatever is left to your wife and hopefully you have some camping stuff in the garage because there is a vacant spot down by the levee between the beat up camp trailer and the couple living in their van.

I like KFC they are excellent return on investment. You get 16 pieces of original recipe OR extra crispy plus 4 sides for only 19.99. With 5000 you can eat good for a month.
