Breakfast of champions!!!
You know it! If only they’d serve beer! Oh well, beer I got!
It raises your HDL. Any other questions?
Same effect as a pressure release valve on a boiler.
I’ve got five Golden Comets that have a coop to roost in but four of them prefer roosting outside in the run. Everyone I know that has chickens has seen egg production drop during the cold winter months. Ours have put out 5 eggs a day with the exception of a few times it has been in the upper teens at night and we only get 3 or 4 eggs the next day.
Yep, we pay a major premium for pastured eggs and eat a lot of them but it’s worth it
Same for grass fed beef, pastured chickens, etc and it may seem excessive but rather than driving brand new cars I prefer to put that money into what we eat
My doctor (a good one) cannot believe how strong and healthy I am for my age—you are what you eat
I like to make some hard boiled eggs ahead of time and leave them in the refrigerator for a quick breakfast snack.
I do like fried eggs with some potatoes, toast and meat, but I am sure my plain hard boiled eggs are probably healthier.
Had two this morning in a greasy spoon. Enjoyed them immensely.
When I was working I was eating hard cooked eggs every day. Usually two. No dirty dishes to deal withl.
Now that I’m retired, I have time to fry eggs and make omelets. I don’t mind the dishes because my two 68 year old dishwashers still function well enough to do the work.
“I don’t mind the dishes because my two 68 year old dishwashers still function well enough to do the work.”
Your dishwashers sound a lot like the chef, maid and handyman at my house that I am always referring to in comments to my family about things going on at my house.
At my annual physical my HDL levels are way up for several years running, and LDL is low, my Dr asks me what i am doing, I tell him - “eating eggs”. He tells me to keep doing it. Eggs may be one of the most nutritious foods. And I never feel hungry for hours after eating them. Maybe I should get a few chickens myself. I buy from a local farmer.
Similar to a linenweaver...
" The Germans maintain the notion that beer is a food."
"Theres a sandwich in every bottle."
Given your definitions, Im going to have to call mine “feral”. They come and go when and where they please and dont really say what theyre eating when they are out but they sure do get fat and sassy. They sure think they are tough, well, right up until they irk a gander, tom, or a dog.
It does but thats more a function of the amount of light per day than temperature.
Some people think Im crazy but Im convinced that I maintain better production by bringing them hot water through the cold also. Its true that it stays liquid longer which would help ensure they arent getting dehydrated but I would imagine that the fact that they are warmed from the inside out for part of the day means they dont lose so much trying to keep themselves warm. The waterfowl dont seem to mind eating snow but it does seem to make a difference for chickens.
That is basically my morning breakfast if you would add some green pepper pieces and a diced jalapeno. Cheese has to be cheddar.
