True except his character had been in the Korean War and for the show to make sense you would have to suspend reality for Marty to be 97 or 98.
Of course they do that on Blue Bloods anyway, Tom Sellecks father’s character is in his 90’s.

John Mahoney, (Martin Crane), never married and was a devout Catholic. I have my doubts about his devotion. He appeared in a horribly maudlin role, fully made up as an aging drag queen, on an episode of ER that really turned me off, since it was propaganda about the "agenda". He grew up in a highly dysfunctional Irish-English household with warring parents, possibly leading to his later choices in life. Nonetheless, a great actor.
I remember first seeing him in Moonstruck, one of the best movies of the 80s, which is about the last decade when most movies were watchable.

At the time, Seattle was one of the whitest cities in the country. Makes me smh about all the BLM protests out there.

While I am not disputing that Mahoney may have been gay, he does not seem to have been out, definitely did not want to be out, and was not claimed in numerous obits to have had a partner. His
New York Times obit does not mention any gayness, but does allude his claim that because of a colostomy, he avoided sex:
John Mahoney, Actor Best Known for ‘Frasier,’ Dies at 77
Here is the obit from the Hollywood publication, Variety, which also does not claim he was gay:
‘Frasier’ Star John Mahoney Dies at 77
So, what is your source, Peter Blood?

In real life, Len Cariou is 81, and Tom Selleck who plays his son is 76, but playing a character less than retirement age.

All I can say is that I recall seeing something about it when he died, that’s all.
It could be he was just a conformed Batchelor. It matters not really.

It mattered enough to you to keep repeating it on this thread. Unfounded gossip is evil.
