GOOD IDEA, That way only 1 state is effected. People are either dumb or can’t understand that a terrorist EMP will take out a whole connected grid. back to horse and coal oil lighting, If not worse, Best be Stocked up, and Lock and Loaded. Trading items will be money. Cars built before chips went in might run, if you can find gas. Water has to be filtered.
From Wikipedia :
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northeast_Blackout_of_2003
"The Northeast blackout of 2003 was a widespread power outage throughout parts of the Northeastern and Midwestern United States,
and the Canadian province of Ontario on August 14, 2003, beginning just after 4:10 p.m. EDT..
Most places restored power by midnight (within 7 hours), some as early as 6 p.m. on August 14 (within 2 hours),.."
The Grid electrical collapse started in Canada.
It caused the grid collapse all the way through Ontario, Canada, as far as Rhode Island, as far west as Ohio, and as south as Pennsylvania.
The fact that currently Chinese parts are going to be introduced into the Grid, under the current administration, raises my concern about Grid security.
The Wikipedia article minimizes the outage as many places, myself included, were without power for over 1 and 1/2 days.
That includes traffic lights, night security alarms, refrigeration, and food preparation; the blessing is that it didn't occur during a full-blown winter storm.
Next time, ... ??
I have not yet purchased, but it is on the list of upgrades for my diesel truck. I have other electrical issues to address first along with suspension. Just sharing the information for others.
The device you suggested in your post #24, proports to be an EMP electronic vehicle protection at a reasonable price point.
Honestly, it is the first such vehicle device that I have seen, which states that it military grade protection for electronics in vehicles.
Given the dominance of electronics in modern transportation vehicles, not to mention the expansion of "all electric vehicles", this device could be a game changer.
Thank you for the information.
Nuclear plants are good for base load electricity, but they can’t change output levels quickly, at least not the old ones in the US where the average age of a nuclear plant is about 40 years old. Some new nuclear plants can ramp up to large percentage increases in the range of around one hour. But, we don’t have any of those due to enviro weenies.
