Hate to tell you this, but both Kingsport and Johnson City each have over 50,000 population. LOL But I’ve been to both cities and spent the night in the past; Johnson City more than once. I do like them both. What I don’t like is the Tri-Cities are promoted on the state website as ‘retirement communities’ which means they’ll have a bigger influx of people.
One of the places I’ve put on my ‘possible’ list is New Tazewell; far enough away from the larger towns/Knoxville but close enough when need them like for medical issues.
It is perfect for a gals night, sister! I wish everyone lived close enough to Lake Erie that I could set one up as soon as the new house is built.....as soon as we find out about the land.....keeping fingers crossed lol.
Oh, and the stupid border has to open up as well lol. Or you guys could just slip over as illegals and I can get some government money for putting you up!
Lol no Canada Dry is ginger ale. But it’s not very gingery. Vernors is the best ginger ale, IMHO.
Going to make some homemade ginger ale this weekend.
Very cool! I’ll bet that’s good ginger ale!
That sounds like a plan!
I bet homemade ginger ale is good.
And I’ll even have Coke on hand for you and Spirit lol! No Coke with coffee up here for CB, sorry (maybe she can sneak it over the border).
Just thinkin.....maybe I’d better make sure there’s 2 bathrooms in whatever house goes up lol.
Ya know, I haven’t tried any of those waters. Sometimes the wellness person at work (when we were still going into the office) would make ‘infused water’ for us to sample....cucumber, lemon, melon, strawberry, etc. Couldn’t ever get into them.
Are you referring to the ones like LaCroix, bubly, Sparkling Ice?
I thought it said that the Clinton Foundation and Walmart owned the boat.
Ginger ale recipe (I’ve tried this one before)

In the Gingerale recipe, that is about 15 minutes from me.
I HAVE TO MAKE THIS RECIPE NOW.
Yes, Aldi has a house brand that is about half the others price.
Oooh, really?? We have an Aldi but it’s on the other side of town. I’ve been wanting to check out the Fit & Active products but I don’t go to that side of town very often; this gives me another reason to do so!
I’ll bet it’s so delicious and refreshing over a bunch of ice with a slice of lemon! I’ll have to add it to the beverage choices for our gathering of the gals. Wait.....can’t we have exit and gub and any of the other guys on our thread? I’m sure they can bring some lively conversation!
It’s amazing how much dough you can save at Aldi.
They are a ruthless competitor.
It’s kind of odd, because you typically expect Germans to be premium priced, but these guys are the exact opposite.
Are they? I thought they were each about 45. And Bristol I think it’s bigger but it’s divided between Tennessee and Virginia.
Well you know what that means when they say it’s good for retired people. Means there’s no jobs here. So people better come with their own money!
But yes, demographics here will definitely change. As will the voting. Last year about 70% of the houses selling went to Outsiders. Now the Realtors are telling us it’s even higher than that. It’ll be interesting to see how much change there is when it all settles out.
You probably want to check out New Tazewell before you make a decision. It’s pretty desolate there. And anywhere here that is desolate is Deliverance country. They don’t want Outsiders and they keep to themselves, even when it comes to choosing mates. Not a good thing. I drive through there when I go to Kentucky to see my friend. I make sure my doors are locked and I get through it without stopping. Oh wait, I’m thinking of Sneedville. I don’t know how different it is from Tazewell and New Tazewell. On the other hand there’s an adorable little town right past Sneedville .Harrogate. Lincoln Memorial University is there and it is so pretty. and the whole town takes on an upscale look to match it. It’s like night and day between the two areas.
Okay the first one of us to try coke with coffee wins!
Well, I’ll have to take your word for the deliciousness of tonic water with Tangueray in it ;) LOL
I would have to find either ginger ale or tonic water in a diet variety; we do have Canada Dry and Schweppes diet tonic water.
HAH! Found Vernors ginger soda in diet at my local grocery store, at least on the website.
