Your numbers on the slave trade are similar to others I have seen. Roughly only 4-5% came to North America and rest 95-96% went to central and South America as well as the Caribbean In those places because of the tropical climates they died at a high rate. In largely temperate North America they survived so the roughly 400,000 black slaves are now 40 million African Americans who are here because their African brothers sold them to the traffickers, and America was a secondary market.

They do nothing, absolutely nothing, but take one small slice out of history of slavery cake. Man has been enslaving’ itself since groups have been interacting and that is tens of thousands of years....and it still exists today.
