Indeed. I tuned-in and the entire hour was filled with an empty sadness mixed with nostalgia. My wife told me she felt the same as she listened while working.
Yes. Very sad. Miss him so much.
Ditto.
I don't disagree with you. I was merely commenting to the other poster that his idea about playing old content is what I understand the plan to be.
Talking to my Mom today.
Those are big shoes that will not be filled by anyone else.
I hope the EIB rating stay strong enough to continue Rush’s show. To continue onward and upward with Todd Herman, Mark Steyn and the others. Also EIB must look for some other strong guest hosts. How about Tucker Carlson sometimes, where he takes lots of phone calls? His speechifying on his TV show has gotten predictable and boring. Get Laura Ingraham on too.
4 sadnesses I have and will remember forever.
Feb 14 2004. (oldest sibling)
Election night 2012
Day after Election night 2020
and Feb 17 2021
All the guest hosting over the last months have lessened the lunch time Rush radio withdrawal to some extent.
Rush will be missed..God rest his soul.
Please remember that Rush 24/7 has a lot of his shows. So although he is gone, his words and ideas are there for people. It will be sad to hear his voice but also good to hear his voice.
Well, we were very fortunate to have him.
The show was all his and he created the EIB.
Nobody can fill it. I suggest moving forward to keep the music and revolving hosts. The music being a tribute to El Rushbo (the harmless lovable fuzzball).
Credit to Hannity today—he said everyone needs to up their game because we just lost our best player.
He’s right. No replacement Babe Ruth appears on the horizon.
woke up crying. Then cried harder listening to Todd Herman’s intro.
Mega dittos on that! I knew it would be tough, but I never expected it to feel like losing a dad or close uncle!
Big time.
“I believe the plan is to play a lot of his old stuff for a couple months.”
I have a two year membership to Rush 24/7, so I can access nearly everything!
I wonder how long they will maintain his web site? I’m listening to him right now, and have listened since 1991.
Going to be a big adjustment.
Rush deliberately focused on current events, not topis or philosophy. Listnership is going to fall away dramatically if repeat broadcasts is all the EIB network has to offer. A permanent replacement host had better be identified and installed quickly or EIB as a venture is not likely to survive. Sad to say that. Rush was a once-in-multiple-generations talent. Who can fill his shoes? A rhetorical question really.
So was I and many others.
I liked the clips they played. Something comforting to hear an old friend again.
We got a double whammy. First Trumps presidency, rallies and his press conferences, tweets etc were taken from us then we lose Rush.
When Nancy was presented the flag....man.
Me too...I’m just so sad.😢
