Don’t overlook Yuengling ‘Light’ it tastes better than the Lager and finishes cleaner. And, at 18.99/case it’s a price performer.

True story: I just had my annual VA physical, blood and urine test, and had a phone interview with my Doc instead of in-person and the first question he asked me is if I drink beer. I replied yes. He then asked if I drink IPA's, I answered yes, exclusively.

He goes on to inform me that my good cholesterol score went way up and mentioned that a recent study showed that hops, which IPA's are heavy with, tend to be beneficial to one's cholesterol and are heart healthy.

YES!

Best beer I can recall was a local up in MN. Hauenstein.
Used to have one when I visited my grandmother. She’d go down to the bar on the corner of the block & have an open faced roast beef sandwich (made their own gravy with the drippings).
The men in the neighborhood worked at the factory for years and waited for the watch/retirement. That’s where they spent their evenings usually. Good bunch of guys. Different America.

Hops are also a good source of phyto-estrogens. So keep that in mind, too.

The woman on the left is wearing my LL Bean shirt.

She does look very healthy though.

Mangos are delicious when deep orange, soft, juicy, and very ripe, like an exceedingly rich peach crossed with something indescribably wonderful. I buy them here in Florida whenever I see them, and luckily they grow in south Florida though it is too cold in my area of the state.

But when they aren’t perfectly ripe, when the flesh is still on the yellow side and they are still crisp, mangos taste of turpentine. Why stores sell them cut into pieces at this stage I don’t know because they’re dry and awful. Maybe they thing the ripe ones are too sloppy.

Winemakers have already glommed onto mangos, which is a shame. They shouldn’t be wasted in booze when there are never enough fresh ones to eat. Beermakers have been screwing up the exotic fruit prices for a while now, first by gobbling up all the pawpaws [which taste like vanilla custard] they can find. Now I suppose it’s mangos since pawpaws are hard to grow commercially.

I hope they never turn to wild persimmons.

mangos are ok, just not in beer or on scrambled eggs.

More like Flaming Homo Mango Beer.
