I think you’re confusing SS benefits that are directly deposited to a person’s account vs. Medicare benefits which are not.
In most cases people who earned Social Security benefits while U.S. citizens can continue to receive them even if they give up their U.S. citizenship. However there are 11 countries where the U.S. won't send Social Security payments to. If Texas were to pull an 1861-style secession then I can see them being number 12.
I agree as that is my ultimate point. Those genius/treasonous political activists on the SC just told Texas voters that they will never get representation in their court. If they won’t take a case that involves their (Texas’) representation for their (or any states) commander-in-chief, all other precedents are effectively rendered moot or of lower standing.
And then they came to the realization that nobody would stand in their way from doing the rest of the country a huge favor.

You get Soc Sec if you live outside the US but are not covered by Medicare.

That’s why for example if you go on a cruise you typically need to purchase medical insurance.
Why would the brilliant people of New Texas sign up for a monetary disaster like Medicare? It’s a great way to unload their high cost old people on blue states.
Because it could be run properly and then grandfathered out. Nobody wants it unload anyone. WE WANT SECESSION TO BE POPULAR AND SUCCESSFUL.
