I think they pretty much ignore voting laws on Detroit's East side.
Back in 2000 my niece's fiance, who was from Texas, waited in line for three hours (he was only one of a few white people) to vote and when he finally got inside the polling station, there was a person handing out fliers that were identical to the butterfly ballots they were using. All you had to do was lay the flier on the pages then check off the preferred candidate the flier was promoting.
The UAW was out in force too, picking up the elderly in buses and taking them to the polls.....
