Incredible that @CNN & MSDNC arent covering the Roll Call of States. Fake News! This is what the Republican Party is up against. Also, Id like to hear the remarks of the Delegates from individual States, rather than @FoxNews anchors. Ridiculous!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 24, 2020

Biden coalitions director Ashley Allison said she was sorry:
Biden foreign policy advisor Tony Blinken, a former Obama administration official, also apologized:
Biden spokesperson Symone Sanders piled on:
Sanders added that Bates remarks were a collective mistake by the campaign, not solely the spokesmans fault.
She called the statement an egregious misstep that damaged the work that Democratic Muslim advocates have been doing to mobilise the community to vote in November.
Thats not how we do business We are not in the business of condemning people and large swathes of the community, absolutely not, she said.
And we are just not going to try and do better going forward, we are going to do better going forward. This will not be a situation that will happen again.
Pence hinted the President will show up soon.
