My question is who is going to teach the little munchkins at home? Does the mother automatically have to give up her career to stay home with the kids? What about single parent households? Do they just stay home and go on welfare? I know conservatives think everybody should have a stay home parent, but that is not going to happen. We are way past that, rather we like it or not. I just don’t think homeschooling is a viable option for most families.
Good questions.
I take it youre just homeschooling because theres no school right now and you wouldnt be doing it otherwise , right?
Were helping our kids with their online learning right now , 10 and 13
That definitely one of the positive outcomes of the epidemic.
Yes, actually “last day” of school was yesterday. We’re in summer vacation now.

We homeschooled out four. Each kid is different.
The oldest two are very very literate. One is even a book editor for a publisher. The third is the geek of the family. He’s now an Astronatucial engineer.
The fourth is like your 18 year old. He’s very smart, but a hands guy, not a book guy. He’s a trucker and right now helping keep hundreds of men employed in the construction industry
Im not sending my elementary child to school with a great fear of closeness to other humans. Aint happening. It would change their lives forever. Especially since the kids who get covid arent very sick at all. Its like a lingering bad cold.
