You know, I have thought quite a lot about that statement. It’s just common sense that most of us learned as kids after getting into trouble for not heeding warnings until we were “shown” the consequences. Adults who have been out of the classroom setting for a long time especially learn from what they experience vs. what they hear or read.
So I keep thinking about other examples where public behavior and/or attitudes have changes massively after being “shown”.

Years ago I read a book about raising children that discussed nagging over and over again vs “natural and logical consequences”. Let the children experience the natural consequences of their behavior/choices, and they would change. Just telling them over and over “don’t do this” or “do this” is not effective.
Sort of karma results in action.
