Whether good bad or indifferent, the ‘lack of freedom’ isn’t that one is restricted from smoking, one can’t even open a bar/restaurant that caters to smoking, can’t run a bus/airline for SMOKERS only.
YET, ‘they’ still allow one to smoke...guess it is not all that bad if it can be taxed....
Like the speed/red light cameras, put up for ‘YOUR’ safety ONLY.
The bottom falls out when the Schiff hits the fan and people quit buying cigarettes/cigars, stopping for red lights and not speeding and the REVENUE is cut off.

There’s a Japanese company, Toto, that markets a self-cleaning, automated WC that even features an ozone generator that they claim kills any E. Coli floating around post-poop.
I don’t know about that, but it’s 100% effective in terms of odor.
This for sure is coming to commercial construction in the US this year.
Other things that we’ll see: private stalls in toilet rooms, hand sanitizer stations in all public areas, automatic ‘no touch’ doors, enhanced destination dispatch of elevators...UV - C lights in high volume spaces, the list goes on.

I have some kin that happen to be Physicians and a Plumber son in law.
The Plumber served a five year low paid (free) apprenticeship and starts making some money. The Doc, college$, med school$, intern, fellowship$?... and perhaps buy into a practice?
For the first 10? years a go-getter big city plumber can rake it in. And more as long as his back holds out.
When the Physician completes paying for school and his equipment he starts moving ahead finically.
Now along comes Wu-flu, the anesthesiologist has been told her position is on the line, has a temp offer in NYC.
And the older country Doctor lived comfortably, but not megabucks.

How many people lower the toilet seat lid before flushing? One in 5,000? Yet I’m not aware of flushing-without-lowering ever being associated with the spread of disease. I’d go into more detail about the idiocy of this woman’s idea, but the rules of TMI prevent me from doing so.

Now you sound like the women in my life who ‘suggest’ I sit down for my business! But seriously, the flush part ‘aerosolizes’ the stuff in the water, sending it far and wide. So, I close the lid, unless I forget.
There’s a side benefit - the Dems who use them will all lose their minds....
I have experience with these in Asia. You need a Norden bomb sight to use them!
I used to specify flush valves with a tall tailpiece to limit the ability of people to do this. You have to be limber to manage it when the flush valve is up towards chest height!
