[Wuhan pneumonia] was ordered to destroy virus samples by bombing China recognized: To ensure safety
8 hours ago
Liu Dengfeng, supervisor of the Science and Education Department of the National Health and Welfare Commission of China, admitted at a press conference on Friday (15th) that China had destroyed Wuhan s pneumonia virus samples in January, saying that it was in order to ensure safety to manage the cause of unknown pneumonia Pathogens.
Regarding the destruction of virus samples, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo pointed out that the Chinese Health Commission ordered the destruction of virus samples on January 3 and refused to share virus strains with other countries. In this regard, Liu Dengfeng said: “China immediately started pathogen identification work after the outbreak occurred. Based on preventing the leakage of biological samples and ensuring biological safety, based on the comprehensive evaluation of experts, we have determined that the pathogens that cause unexplained pneumonia are temporarily classified into two categories. Highly pathogenic pathogens are managed, and clear biological safety requirements are made for collection, transportation, experimental activities, destruction, etc. “

A metro area with 3 million people has so few ICU beds that 233 cases is overwhelming the system? That seems very unlikely.
From the article
The states pandemic preparedness website as of Friday indicated that 1,045 of 1,257 available ICU beds were occupied by patients with COVID-19 or other unrelated medical conditions and that another 1,093 beds could be readied within 72 hours.
Oh, yeah. Just posted on the TX board that we had 2 morons jump over the fence into the yard yesterday. Saw they’d hopped into 3 other neighbors’ yards. Apparently, they’d been swimming but didn’t want to swim back upstream.
That’s an excellent way to ruin their day. Yee haw! Tourists have no sense and act like fools.
A friend called and said his part of the lake was the most crowded he’s ever seen and his neighbor’s came in with a bunch of people who were half lit so he’s not going to get any sleep tonight.
Hoping any CV was washed off.
And we may have an arsonist. Too many structures fires lately. Two today.
Well, if he gets too close to the flames, that’ll take care of any virus.
“My mom is dead.”
Sorry for your loss.
Does that make it okay to off other people’s moms? Because that is the consequence of your behavior, or the behavior you are advocating, whether you actually have the courage to step out of your house or not. Maybe you won’t be directly responsible for the chain of infections that gets to that mom, but someone just like you - a solipsistic, insouciant narcissist - will be.
If you can’t follow that reasoning, it isn’t *me* that’s “mental”.
When you fire a machine gun at a target, or cluster bomb one, not all of the munitions are hits. It is because of multiple effective (to some degree) strategies that some efforts will appear to have been unnecessary. Would you rather the other way around?
But, since so many people have your attitude of “it was all overblown and a waste”, it’s a pretty good bet that hospital will see some action in the next few months.
American Firepower Discipline: It is better to waste bullets than men.
Here’s to those on the water today being too hung-over and sunburned to be out again tomorrow ! :)
Gun store in my area requires masks, as do many of the other places.
Whenever I have been out I’ve done a running tally of how many places are open/open with required social distancing/not open at all and it seems like over 90% of the businesses between where I live and the nearest large cities are open in some fashion. Most affected are some drive-through food places (but only some) and walk-in eateries, many of which still offer curb-side or even delivery, consignment shops/second hand stores, and a few other places that may have already been having problems. There are at least two new restaurants that actually opened during the lock down. All the other places seem to be operating quasi-normally. Yeah, I am sure there are duct-tape lines to tell you how far apart to be and plexiglass barriers for people to lean around, and rules for the employees to wear face masks (but no proper training or enforcement), etc., but I don’t see that much in the way of closings.
Thats why I dont call myself a libertarian.
You are both nuts.
Exactly. What ever happened to the libertarian my rights end where yours begin mantra? It never applied to the unborn and their rights, so I guess they have their exceptions.
Ha! I was just thinking they are sleeping it off. It’s 9 am and all is quiet.
That gun dealer might see a drop in sales.
