There were some posts the other day on foraging. When cleaning out the flower bed for a tiny little veggie patch, there were a handful of wild onions I tossed into a sauted yellow squash side dish a few nights ago. Good eats.
We have wild onions all over the yard and some garlic.
Later in the summer there will be wild mustang grapes for jelly but wear gloves because you might get a bad rash from picking them. We have enough jelly so won’t be doing that this year and not wanting to use up the sugar.
Keep an eye out for when prickly pear cactus gets ripe. Make jelly and candy from the pears. Make a side dish from the leaves. Needless to say, be careful of the thorns. And snakes.
Algerita berry jelly is also good but the spiky leaves will tear your hands up.
Look around for fruit trees and bushes away from people. Wash and cook the fruit for safety. Zest citrus, place the zest on a plate and let it dry naturally to use in cooking. Cook the skin with sugar for candy (if you can spare the sugar).
When making jelly, turn the excess pulp and mush the skins into preserves and fruit butter. Waste not, want not.
It is past time to pick up pecans. My knee won’t let me pick them as they should be so a failed free advantage food source from our trees. Look around for nut trees.
Every once in a while we get a vine of little wild mouse melons. Make a little refrigerator pickle of the green ones. Don’t eat the black ripe ones.
Yucca (two Cs) grow wild here but I haven’t tried eating them.
There’s always the river for fish. Dig worms and catch grasshoppers for free bait.
I’m not wasting ammo on the squirrel population so will leave them for the cats.
It has been 85 days since the first guy brought the Wuhan virus from China to Washington.
You’ll push your way to the front of the line and trample little old ladies, huh.
That’s funny.
At one time, I thought Harry was thinking with the wrong head and he deserved someone better than MEghan. Nope, they deserve each other.

74 in South Korea test positive for 2nd time
South Korea says at least 74 people who had been diagnosed as recovered from the new coronavirus tested positive for the second time after they were released from hospitals.
Jeong Eun-kyeong, director of South Koreas Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said Thursday health authorities were testing virus and serum samples to determine whether patients who tested positive again would be capable of transmitting the virus to others and whether their bodies had properly created antibodies.
She said some of the patients didnt show any symptoms before their follow-up tests turned positive, while others were tested again because they were exhibiting respiratory symptoms. She said none of these patients so far have seen their illness worsen to serious conditions.

FNC - In Wuhan, for every one case of CV, the infection was passed on to infected 5.7 others.
Werent they too busy telling everybody to eat at Chinatown and ride the subway
What race was the child? We know darker skin makes it harder to produce Vit D from the sun.
Italy 4204 new cases and 604 new deaths both up
those is serious continue to only trickle down 3602 down 83
this is why I an afraid the death model slope down once it hits peak for the USA may be too steep... and Italy had tighter lock downs then we did
Pompeo and officials have other things to do than get these ding bats back home. They knew to get themselves home 2+ months ago.
